Joan's Biography Designated as a Forbidden Book: Progress on the Lower Volume and Appendix
Kakuyomu version of the serialized updates for 'The Biography of Joan of Arc Designated as a Forbidden Book by the Holy See'.
Starting 'Lower Volume/Appendix: Medical Findings / Prophets Who Had Audiences with Early Modern and Modern French Kings / Portraits of Joan'.
▼ Appendix (3) Modern French Prophets: Thomas Martin, the Farmer of Gallardon who had an audience with Louis XVIII
Just like Joan and Charles VII, there were prophets? or saints? who had audiences with the French kings of their time during the Bourbon Restoration as well. In the case of the 19th century, perhaps reflecting the unstable era after the revolution, they were sometimes interpreted through the lens of political ideology...
▼ Appendix (4) Portraits and Iconography of Joan
Regarding portraits created during Joan's lifetime or shortly after her death.
Academic discussions involving art, history, and religion, as well as things like forgeries?.
I can understand the desire to attribute something to a famous person to add prestige to an antique.

Finally, I have finished translating both the upper and lower volumes... but actually, there is some unfinished business from the upper volume.
The 'Introduction' at the beginning of the upper volume, before the main story, is so long and difficult that I have been putting it off. After all, despite the title 'Introduction' (preface/overview), the Japanese translation is over 39,000 characters. It is longer than any chapter so far and is a high hurdle for first-time readers.
I kept it private to prevent people from closing the browser before the main story, but those brave souls who have read this far should be able to keep up.
Since it mainly consists of introductions and considerations of the literature that forms the foundation of this book, it might actually be more appropriate as an 'Afterword'.
