Heart-Throbbing Toe Shoes [Weekly Short-Short Note]
I always feel nervous before stepping onto the stage.
I mustn't make any mistakes. I have to dance perfectly. I have to look graceful. My head gets filled with thoughts like that.
But I know a way to resolve this nervousness.
I placed a small box labeled "Heart-Throbbing Toe Shoes" on my lap and took out a pair of small, worn-out toe shoes from inside.
They are the toe shoes I wore when I first started ballet.
Before I go on stage, I always look at these toe shoes.
When I see them, my heart calms down, and I feel like everything will be okay. I remember the initial feelings I had when I first started ballet.
Back when dancing was just fun.
Back when I would sometimes make mistakes and get scolded by my teacher, but just moving my body to the music and practicing made me so happy.
Because I can remember those days when I was so small.
That is why I can dance happily on this stage today, too.
When I stood on stage, the curtain rose, the lights hit me, and I was enveloped in happiness.
