Making Those Closest to You Happy
Want to make society better? Many people wish for that. And not a few people think, "If I don't do something bigger, it has no value." Becoming famous, changing society, being evaluated by many people. Of course, aiming for those things is not bad in itself. However, there is something you must not forget before that. That is the value of making those closest to you happy.
Family, lovers, friends, colleagues. If you try to save someone far away without being able to cherish the people you interact with in your daily life, distortions are likely to arise somewhere.
This is because the essence of humanity appears within "relationships."
Even if you talk about noble things outside, you are always grumpy at home. Even if you look kind on social media, you are cold to those close to you. In that state, it is hard to say that you are making people happy in the true sense. Conversely, people who naturally put those close to them at ease or make them smile have great value just by doing that.
Moreover, making those closest to you happy can be done without special talent.
Expensive gifts or flashy performances are not necessary. Listen carefully to what the other person has to say. Put gratitude into words. Be a little considerate when they are tired. Support them when they are in trouble. Such small accumulations often warm people's hearts more deeply in reality.
However, modern people tend to treat those closest to them carelessly.
They think they can see them anytime. They think it's natural for them to understand. Dependency arises. Then, even though they are careful with others, they unconsciously become blunt with family and lovers. But originally, the ones you should cherish the most are those with whom you spend a long time.
When close human relationships are strained, it also puts a heavy burden on the mind and body.
Just having a bad atmosphere at home increases fatigue, and a state of having no place to feel at ease wears down your spirit without you knowing it. Conversely, just by having a sense of security in the place you return to and having relationships where you can be yourself, people can become surprisingly strong. That is why making those closest to you happy is not just a "good deed," but also leads to putting yourself in order.
Also, the power to make people happy grows through training.
The ability to observe what the other person wants. The ability to read the room. The ability to adjust your words and attitude. The ability to gauge timing. These are all training in understanding human nature and self-control. It is important to polish the sense of creating a comfortable state for each other, rather than just serving in a self-sacrificing way.
And strangely enough, people who can make those closest to them happy are more likely to have a good influence on people far away as a result.
This is because the kindness and stability accumulated in daily life naturally seep into your words and atmosphere. Conversely, if you talk about "wanting to save the world" while making those close to you unhappy, a certain emptiness remains.
First, put the world closest to you in order.
It may seem like a small thing, but it is actually very difficult and also noble. Before saving all of humanity, first, make someone in front of you feel a little more at ease today. That accumulation is what becomes the power to make the world a little better, little by little, as a result.
