[Stationery] Ballpoint pens that I find easy to use
Taking notes, writing down thoughts, keeping a diary
When you are too tired from your daily life to even have time for such things, you don't usually use a ballpoint pen, but
you still use them at work, right?
I have always chosen them by their appearance and regretted it due to their usability.
I cannot afford the expensive ballpoint pens that are introduced in the world as having a good writing feel or being less tiring because of their low center of gravity, so I would like to introduce some inexpensive, good-looking ballpoint pens that I have been using without any complaints since I bought them, while also keeping a memo of compatible refills.
1. Anterique BP1
Thin! But easy to write with!!
A ballpoint pen so thin that you wouldn't think, "Let's use this."
I regularly search for stationery online, and I discovered this and bought it because it didn't look thin in the photos, but it actually has a very good feel, and I find myself reaching for it whenever it's nearby when I want to write something.
The price is 330 yen, and the initial equipment seems to be what is called Mach Ball oil-based ink.
The genuine refill is only 0.5mm and seems to only come in black.
Since there are quite a lot of color variations, I think you can choose your favorite color.
2. Mitsubishi Pencil uni-ball one P
Chunky and cute. Is it already a classic?
It might be commonplace now, but when I first saw it, I liked the look of it so much that I decided to buy it immediately.
I have heard people say it is hard to write with, so I think it depends on the person, but I actually find it easy to use.
The price is 550 yen, which feels a bit expensive, but considering the period of use, isn't it cheap? Maybe.
Also, I have the impression that there are many compatible refills; if it's the same gel ink as the initial equipment, there are EnerGel and Sarasa (maybe water-based?), and if it's oil-based ink, there are Jetstream and Blen, etc. (I think there are many others).
Conversely, for those who have avoided ballpoint pens that support compatible refills because they didn't like the look of them even though they are highly rated for their writing feel, this information might be good news.
Note that the genuine refills come in 0.5mm and 0.38mm, and the colors are black, red, blue, and blue-black, which is a bluish-black ink.
As background knowledge, perhaps because it is popular, I never see the 0.38mm blue-black in stock at my local store.
The body color variations are abundant, and there are also limited colors. It really boosts the desire to own one.
*By the way, the uni-ball one and uni-ball ZENTO didn't suit me.
Well, it seems there were only two types of ballpoint pens I could introduce.
Also, a 3-color ballpoint pen called uni-ball one 3 was recently released, so I am currently trying it out, and it is relatively good and quite expensive.
That is all for the recommendations according to the theme for now, but here is an extra edition (ballpoint pens that are a bit more expensive and some trivia).
3. PILOT 2+1 Acro Drive
It has no quirks, and the writing feel is just right.
This is a multi-functional ballpoint pen in a price range that you might have been gifted in various situations since becoming a working adult. (2,750 yen)
I myself received it as a gift, but because of its good usability, it has been a regular in my pen case for over 5 years now.
As the name suggests, it comes with red and black ballpoint pens (2) and a mechanical pencil (+1).
The initial refill is an oil-based ink called Acro Ink, which comes in 0.5mm and 0.7mm, and in 4 colors: black, red, blue, and green.
However, it seems that the production of the body has likely ended...
Trivia
Among the ballpoint pens I currently use, the uni-ball one P has a clear body, so I started wanting to be particular about the contents, and while researching refill compatibility, I discovered something called refill standards.
It seems that if these are the same, they can be used as replacement cores, so as someone who likes the uni-ball one P, I would like to introduce compatible refills.
Including those I wrote about in the relevant introduction text, I have currently confirmed (or not confirmed) 5 types of compatibility
・Gel ink
Pentel EnerGel series
PILOT Juice up series
ZEBRA Sarasa series
・Oil-based ink
uni JETSTREAM with the protrusion
uni JETSTREAM expensive metal one (it's expensive so I haven't tried it)
ZEBRA blen with the stepped design (haven't tried it)
Thank you for reading this far.
So, that is all.
