Building blogging muscles?! Using note to gather ideas 💛
I currently work as a writer, but I didn't specifically study to become one.
However, looking back, there is a habit that I think has become my foundation. In this post, I will write about the secret to improving writing skills and how to use note to gather ideas.
Writing improvement tips taught to me by a popular author
There is a habit I have kept since I was a student. That is, to jot things down immediately whenever an idea comes to mind.
When I was attending art college, design critic Hiroshi Kashiwagi was still an assistant professor. He had published many books on design and was a popular teacher.
Once, in his office, he told me something like this:
"Humans forget things, you know. I make it a point to jot down ideas as soon as they come to me. Like sending an email to myself on my phone."
I still practice this today. I often send emails to myself with ideas or useful URLs.

Nowadays, I also frequently use memo apps on my smartphone.
Does making writing a habit build blogging muscles?!
Jotting things down when they come to mind—I think making this a habit is important.
It's like continuing to use the motor nerves of your brain and body by verbalizing ideas that pop into your head and moving your hands to output them.
I call this "blogging muscles" (laughs).
When a client I once consulted for became able to write a blog almost every day, they told me, "I've started to build up my blogging muscles, too."
217th consecutive day of posting on note
I started writing on note every day from May 15th, and today marks 217 days.

My writing on note every day can also be said to be a way of continuing to use my "blogging muscles."
Gathering ideas with note magazines
I think note can also be used as a personal memo to quickly jot down things that come to mind.
I think it's a good idea to also use magazines for gathering material.
With magazines, you can register not only the articles you've written yourself, but also articles written by others.
You can create both "private" magazines that only you can see, and "public" magazines that anyone can view.
It's also great for building a fan base connected by themes of interest.
If you create a public magazine that compiles useful information on themes you're interested in, people might even follow your magazine.
Among the ones I've created, here are the magazines that are frequently followed↓
You can connect with people who are interested in the same themes.
The writing you've saved on note and the material you've collected in magazines can be useful when you really need them. For example, when you're writing a manuscript on a specific topic.
I hope more people will use note like this to gather material and build a writing habit.
