Why Follow? About Likes and Comments
Yesterday, I had mini free consultations with two people via Zoom.
Some people feel hesitant about communicating with strangers online! Both of them had questions about following and likes.
This time, I have summarized my thoughts on online communication, such as following, likes, and comments.
Likes < Comments < Follow
A 'like' is a way to easily express empathy after reading a note article.

By writing a comment, you can convey your thoughts even further.

If you 'follow' someone because you want to keep reading their posts, you can connect with them.

It makes me happy when I get a like 💛
Some people say they hesitate to like posts by strangers.
But when I ask, 'Don't you feel happy when you get a like on note?'...

The answer I get back is, 'It's true that it makes me happy to get a like.'
Exactly! It is a happy thing to be liked 😊
Especially for fellow noters, a 'like' that expresses empathy is precious 💛
The first step is to do for others what you would be happy to have done for you.
Because fewer people leave comments, the joy is exceptional 💛
There are also voices saying that commenting on a stranger's post has a high hurdle.

My note articles don't have many comments either.
I sometimes leave comments like, 'I've had that happen too' or 'I like this too.'

It is true that it might take a little courage to comment...
but because the number of people who comment is small, you could say the joy is exceptional 💛
If you think, 'It makes me happy when someone expresses their empathy in words,' it might become easier to comment 😊
Why do we follow?
When followed, some people seem to feel, "Why would they follow me?"
I think many people follow others because they "resonated with this person's posts" or "want to connect."
On the other hand, there are also people who follow indiscriminately, aiming for a follow-back.
If it feels like "sales" in a field completely unrelated to your own, it might indeed feel off-putting💦

I personally feel happy when I am followed😊
With the mindset of "I'll be the one to reach out first," I make it a point to follow others myself.
A profile that serves as a basis for deciding whether to follow
I am happy when I am followed, but...
It seems some people think, "Why would they follow someone like me?"
When I ask further, they say, "I'm worried that people might think I'm a suspicious account because I haven't written a proper profile."
Profiles are certainly important, aren't they?💛
Aren't there many people who use them as a criterion for whether or not to follow someone?
Conversely, you could say that just having a profile or self-introduction written makes you seem trustworthy to others.
Once you start on note, make sure to at least write a self-introduction or profile!

What are the criteria for following back?
If you are followed by someone, you will likely follow them back if you are interested, and ignore them if you are not.
I think everyone has their own selection criteria for "who to follow."
It's perfectly fine to decide for yourself!
There is no need to follow someone back out of obligation just because they followed you.

If you only follow people you can resonate with or who share common interests, your timeline should display posts that are easier to relate to. Wouldn't it be easier to leave likes and comments on those kinds of posts?😊
You decide who you connect with! You can also block if you feel uncomfortable
It is also important to decide for yourself "who you want to connect with".
Strangely enough, good people tend to be surrounded by other good people, don't they?

If you feel uncomfortable, you can also block them.
Note has a warm atmosphere, but...
On social media other than Note, it is said that "who you do not connect with" is even more important than "who you connect with".
I gave up on Ameblo... but I can keep going with Note because it's fun
One of the people I gave a free mini-consultation to yesterday was an Ameblo user.
They said, "Even if I follow people who liked my posts on Ameblo, there is no response."
Many of the people who follow you are also in the consulting business. It feels like many are looking for potential clients. There seem to be a lot of blogs about making money, too.
Ameblo has the largest number of users in Japan and has a wide variety of users, but...
There are quite a few people who get discouraged because there is almost no reaction to their "likes," comments, or follows.
I've also heard people say, "I gave up on Ameblo, but I can keep going with Note because it's fun."

It even praises you just for updating every day (laughs).
When the number of likes hits a milestone, you get a pop-up notification... I think Note is really well-designed to maintain motivation.
Just posting a tweet is fine. Post without pressure
I'm sure some of you have experienced your thoughts becoming clearer while writing and posting articles.
Many people seem to be under the impression that they "have to write long, proper sentences," but... just a smartphone photo and a tweet is fine.
I would be happy if more people enjoyed updating their Note.
