Additional sessions also fully booked 💛 Participant feedback and behind-the-scenes truths from the profile seminar
Yesterday, I held profile seminars in both the morning and the evening!
I've put together the behind-the-scenes of the seminar and some participant feedback.
The profile seminar that filled up the next day
The "Profile Creation Experience Seminar for People Who Can't Explain Themselves Well," held on Sunday, July 27th, was fully booked the day after I started announcing it!
Even after it was fully booked, there were inquiries...
Even after it reached capacity, I received inquiries from several people.
I decided to consider holding an additional session if enough people were interested.
The additional session is also fully booked?!
When I asked for people who wanted to participate next time, it filled up again!
I've summarized the behind-the-scenes document leading up to the second full-house success here ↓
A sneak peek at the morning seminar content 💛
Keiko-san, who requested, "Please hold a profile seminar!" participated in the morning session.keiko participated in the morning session.

I also had Keiko-san join in the pair work.keiko also joined in the pair work.
Concerns regarding profiles
Participants who signed up for the seminar shared their concerns regarding their profiles.
I pick up on their raw feedback and incorporate it into my slides.

When I asked, "Has anyone else felt the same way?" and asked for a show of hands, quite a few people raised their hands in agreement.
Revealing Shimomayu's terrible profile
I also find it most difficult to write my own profile 💦
In the seminar, I also reveal the terrible profile I wrote for myself.

While reading it aloud, I have them type the points they think are not good into the chat.
I received comments such as 'There is too much text and it is hard to read,' 'My eyes are drawn to the numbers, but the age and achievements are not separated,' and 'I don't know what kind of expert you are.'
Shimomayu's profile after improvements
Next, I read it aloud while projecting the slide of the improved profile.

I received feedback such as 'The before-and-after is easy to understand, and it makes me think I might be able to try it too...' and 'Because you incorporated your experience, the before-and-after is clear and I could empathize with it.'
Discoveries from mutual interviews in pairs
Your own strengths are things you do unconsciously, which is why they are the hardest for you to notice yourself.

In the second half of the seminar, we do a workshop where participants write down the content of their mutual interviews in pairs onto a worksheet.
Having someone listen to you can also lead to new discoveries.
Important things for a profile
Finally, I summarize the important points for creating a profile and wrap up.

It is important to narrow down your points so that people can understand 'what this person will do for me if I hire them.'
If you want to introduce someone to others but don't know what words to use to describe them, it becomes a lost opportunity, doesn't it?
Participants of the evening session
It was indeed difficult to coordinate the schedules of everyone who wanted an additional session, so I held it in two parts: a morning session and an evening session.
I took a screenshot only of those who were okay with showing their faces.

In a 60-minute seminar, the time for workshops is inevitably limited.
I also joined the breakout rooms to support the pair work, but... three minutes for a workshop goes by in a flash 💦 It was a good experience to be able to feel it from the participant's perspective.
Participant feedback
Some people have already written their feedback 💛
Talk about the benefits for the other person, show the before and after

Some said, 'I realized I had completely missed talking about the benefits for the other person.' Talking in pairs helps you notice things, doesn't it?
I needed a profile for a new job I'm starting

One participant said, 'I joined because I needed a profile for a new job, and I'm so glad I heard this today.'
Talking to others helps organize your thoughts

They say, 'You can see others clearly, but you can't see yourself.'
I hope you experienced that 'talking to others helps organize your thoughts better than thinking alone' 😊
It was great to pair up and interview each other while creating it

I was happy to receive feedback saying, 'The style of pairing up and interviewing each other while creating the profile was very good' 😊
I want to introduce others, but I don't know how to explain them

Some people mentioned they are often asked, 'I want to introduce someone else, but I don't know how to explain them.'
They said, 'It was good to gain the perspective of, It's not that, but rather I want to know this instead....'
Talking in pairs helps you notice things, doesn't it?
There were also some points for improvement 💦
It seems some people find it difficult to input information into Google Slides or chat.

For those who couldn't input into Google Slides well, I had them send their notes via email and I transcribed them... I realized it's necessary to check the participants' skill levels in advance and make accommodations.
Some people even wrote their feedback on SNS 💛
I really like the honest feedback: 'Most importantly, it's about the [other person's perspective]. Wow! I haven't been doing that! I intend to improve on this!' 😊
Seminar participants get a 30-minute free consultation bonus
keiko's Threads says, '...there is also a free consultation, so please feel free to reach out.'
Feedback on Free Consultations
I have also received feedback from those who took advantage of the 30-minute free consultation.

I hope you can achieve what you have been unable to give up on for so many years!
The request to 'include a free consultation'
The request from keiko was, 'Please hold a profile seminar for free! And include a 30-minute free consultation.'

Feeling uneasy, I consulted ChatGPT
Usually, 'inviting' someone means setting everything up and just asking them to 'please just show up and speak.'

Since I felt a bit uneasy about it, I asked ChatGPT.

It replied, 'You are absolutely right,' which made me feel a bit relieved.
It was closer to hosting than just being invited
When I spoke with keiko on Zoom previously and asked to be made a co-host, I was only able to be granted host privileges.
Since I use two devices for the seminar and also use breakout rooms, I thought it would be easier to use my own Zoom account.

I created not only the Zoom settings but also the application form and the participant list. I also sent out the reminder emails and thank-you emails myself.
I thought of the seminar content myself and handled the Zoom operations entirely on my own.
For those who couldn't input into Google Slides well, I had them send me their mutual interview notes via email or other means, then I transcribed them into the worksheet and sent them to the participants via email.
In reality, I wasn't just being 'invited'; I was acting almost like the organizer.
Out of 20 participants, 14 were brought in by Shimomayu
Although the sessions were fully booked twice in July and August, if this is seen as keiko's achievement, it feels a bit frustrating💦
Out of the 10 participants in the 7/27 seminar, 2 were through keiko. Out of the 10 applications for the 8/17 seminar, 4 were introduced by keiko.
While I am grateful for the connections with those who were introduced, it is a fact that more applications came from my own Note, newsletter, and social media...
Keiko-san, whose paid sessions also became fully booked
When I announced the profile seminar in my newsletter in July, Keiko-san, who suddenly received 6 applications for paid trial sessions, saidKeiko-san.
When we held an additional profile seminar in August, we announced it on note, in the newsletter, and on social media, but...
In July,Keiko-san spoke with about 30 people on Zoom, and both her trial sessions and ongoing sessions were fully booked?! (—Wow, she's making a lot of money!)

I, who spoke at three seminars for free, included 30-minute free consultations, and worked almost like the organizer, was left with a lingering sense of frustration...
Settling things after talking to Keiko-san on Zoom
While I was feeling frustrated, I received a message fromKeiko-san asking, "Would it be possible to talk on Zoom for a bit?"

When I felt things were getting a bit awkward, I appreciated her attitude of wanting to talk directly rather than through text.
After she listened to me, I also said, "It would have been better if we had discussed things with each other from the start."
I realized that I had been carrying everything on my own, and thatKeiko-san had also been hesitant to speak up.
The cause was also a lack of communication between us.
I thought it was good that we were able to connect on Zoom and discuss things that were difficult to say, rather than communicating through text.

There have been requests to "hold a note seminar," and I am considering holding one after September, but... next time, I want to make sure it's a pleasant experience without requiring self-sacrifice.
