It Is Too Early to Give Up

Swaying gently,
drifting on the waves
of my heart,
I let my thoughts
wander to the distant past.

Once I have swum
through the waves
of memories for a while,
I return to the perspective
of who I am now.

Thinking of those days,
which were but a fleeting sparkle,
I reflect on these days
where the colors
begin to fade.

People live,
and amidst the colors
being subtracted,
we continue to paint
the continuation of our dreams.

Even if the colors fade
and turn to shades of light ink,
the continuation of the dream
can still be seen
for a long time to come.

Until the day we die,
we are creatures
who want to keep
celebrating life.

That is precisely why
it is still too early
to give up,
if now is the time
to rise up...
