[Report] Lecture: Hiroyuki Ohno - "Why is there learning in Hokusetsu?"

We held a lecture hosted by the Shimamoto Town PTA Liaison Council and supported by the Shimamoto Town Board of Education.

Hiroyuki Ohno, who was born and raised in Hokusetsu and continues to influence many people today, will speak about education, creativity, and the importance of community based on his own learning and experiences in his hometown of Hokusetsu. This is a perfect opportunity, especially for those raising children, to rediscover how local learning and environments affect a child's growth and what role the Hokusetsu region has played. Recommended for those who: - Want to deepen their connection with the local community - Want to provide the best learning and growth environment for their children - Want to gain new perspectives on their own parenting and the future of their children. ⚫︎ Hiroyuki Ohno Profile
Screenwriter, director, and president of the Japan Chaplin Association. Born in 1974. Raised in Takatsuki City. Graduate of Osaka Prefectural Ibaraki High School. Graduate of Kyoto University and its graduate school. Internationally active as a Chaplin researcher. Author of many books, including "Chaplin and Hitler: The World War of Media and Images" (Iwanami Shoten, 37th Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities). His latest book is "Fascism Seen by Chaplin: The Comedy King's World Tour 1931-1932" (Chuko Sensho). In his creative work, he launched the musical theater troupe 'Tottemo Benri' while at Kyoto University and began his theatrical career. Films he has written and produced include "Uzumasa Limelight" (Fantasia International Film Festival Best Film Award, New York Asian Film Festival Audience Award, etc.) and "The Funeral Director" (starring Atsuko Maeda), which is set in Ibaraki. In recent years, he has frequently appeared as a panelist on "Soko Made Itte Iinkai NP" (Yomiuri TV). He lives in Kyoto City and has also written a collection of essays about Kyoto titled "Kyoto no Onedan" (Kodansha). Received a special medal at the Pordenone Silent Film Festival in 2006 and the Kyoto City Culture and Arts Award in 2014.
The 4th Elementary School PTA in charge of the lecture created the flyers.
Flyers were distributed to all schools and apartment complexes in town.
Requested and posted on local bulletin boards and at various shops.
It was also published in the Shimamoto Town Newsletter.
