One-third of the sheet music for the new album 'Seasonal Changes' has already been published by Gendai Guitar.
I have two important announcements regarding this CD.
First, as a result of discussions with the label, there are currently no plans for this new CD to be available for digital download or
on streaming services.
I can hear you saying, "But I don't even have a CD player at home anymore!"and I am very sorry about that.
(I know, many computers don't even have disc trays anymore, or you might only be able to use Blu-ray, so you can't listen to it.)
The second thing is that I have received inquiries from several people who have already purchased it, asking, "There is a song I like, but when will the sheet music be available?"Actually, 13 of the songs are already included in the 'Wine & Spice' Shiki Nagashima Guitar Works Vol. 2, which was published by Gendai Guitar three years ago.
There is a reason for this; when that collection was published, I consulted with the editorial department and included extra songs in addition to those on the 'Wine & Spice' CD.
Immediately after that, the COVID-19 pandemic began, and since I couldn't easily record, it took three years for this CD to be released.
So, I have created a list of the songs that are already included in the aforementioned collection.
〇 Variations on a Theme by Hirokazu Sato〇 A Baby Girl Born in January
〇 Ama vie ―Love your life―
〇 Suite "Six Herbs"
I. Sage
II. Basil
III. Italian parsley
IV. Lavender
V. Fennel
VI. Peppermint
〇 Late in the Fall Sketches
I. Deepening Autumn
II. The Arrival of Winter
〇 When We Think of Christmas
I. Chorale
II. Dance
As for the other songs, they will all be included in a collection scheduled to be published by Gendai Guitar this year (including KORUOKA, which was unveiled at the exhibition).
This time, since there will be a significant shortage of songs for the collection, it will contain many previously unreleased pieces.
I can hear the question, "What! Are you going to write that many more?"
Actually, I have 6 or 7 songs already written, all of which were composed for young guitarists. They are all excellent performers, and all the songs are waiting for their own performances, so I won't be playing them myself.
Therefore, I am sorry, but I can only ask you to look forward to the release of the collection and their performances.
And one last confession. Regarding the songs in 'Wine & Spice' Shiki Nagashima Guitar Works Vol. 2, if you ask if all of them were recorded, there is actually one song that, as a composer, I remained dissatisfied with, and although I practiced it, I did not include it. I thought, "I guess these things happen!" (In a word, I was not thorough enough!)
I think I will probably never perform it myself again.
I feel a little sorry for the publisher, Gendai Guitar.
