#946 Listening to Episodes
The important thing is to "listen to episodes." At first, a vague way of asking is fine. For example, ask, "What are you most proud of in your work or life so far?" Suppose the other person answers, "It is this and that." Then, immediately ask, "Could you tell me an episode about that?"
Start by asking a vague question.
Ask, "What are you most proud of in your work or life so far?"
Based on their answer,
ask for a more specific episode.
When there is a specific episode,
that person's experience and thinking are conveyed realistically.
The lack of an episode means
that it is only on the surface and they have not taken action.
To know a person more deeply,
have them tell you an episode.
Conversely, you should also live and act in a way
that allows you to tell your own episodes.
