Pick-up Cells (1)
A pick-up? Or a reverse pick-up? I didn't intend for that at all. The apartment I moved into had walls as thin as I'd heard rumors about. The sound of footsteps and the TV from the next room came right through. I could tell from the presence that it was a man. Well, I saw the person who wore the T-shirt hanging on the balcony at the supermarket and thought he was actually my type. "Excuse me, are you by any chance alone? This watermelon looks delicious, but you couldn't finish it by yourself, could you?"
"Oh, I live right there. What a coincidence."
I felt like something tapped against the thin wall.
"Oh, I just cut it, would you like to have some watermelon?"
"I even have salt. A single sprinkle breaks down the cells and makes it juicy, just like this wall."
"Look, you do it like this." When I selected 'merge cells,' the two rooms became one. After all, aren't there things you can have many of in one room, and things you don't need a lot of? Like futons, for example?
A mini-drama playing on the monitor in the watermelon section. "Not for children."
