2025 World Tour Travelogue Day 6 (1/2)
I am leaving Vienna this morning.
My destination is Graz.
It is about a two-and-a-half-hour train ride southwest of Vienna.
It is Austria's second-largest city.

I left the accommodation I stayed at in Vienna and headed to the station by bus.
I boarded an ÖBB train from Meidling Station.
The intercity express train had seats that were more sturdily built than the trains I had taken so far.

There was a ticket inspection along the way.
Just listening to the voice of the ticket inspector, I felt like they might be angry.
However, when I actually saw their face, they had a friendly impression.
German seems to be a language that sounds angry.
S had pointed this out even before leaving Japan.
That it is similar to the Kansai dialect.

The train runs through the mountains toward Graz.
I have been blessed with good weather on this trip.
The air in Austria during my stay has been dry, and it has been clear with almost no clouds.
I can see peaceful country towns from the train window.
By the way, the toilet on this train was free to use.
The Graz station where I got off was modern and compact.
Just like in Vienna, smokers were noticeable.
I gathered that this country is much more tolerant of smoking than Japan.
I walked to my accommodation in the early afternoon of a clear autumn day.
The buildings along the main street from the station are all of a uniform height.
There are no high-rise buildings like tower mansions, and it is a calm town where the church and the castle ruins on the mountain are symbolic.
I arrived at my accommodation after walking for about 15 minutes.
Following Vienna, I booked a private lodging instead of a hotel.
I took the key out of the key box myself and entered the room.
Perhaps because the building itself is old, the construction was poor, and I struggled to open and close the lock.
The room on the second floor is small but has a courtyard.
Although the grade is lower than the room in Vienna, considering it is close to the World Heritage old town, the accommodation fee is reasonable.
However, it was a shame that the toilet was a foreign model and the seat was cold.
