A conversation between Xia Lian, who gives up on racing because she is a woman, and the protagonist Appare, who says he will race despite having no driving experience.
Appare: "Simple things aren't interesting, are they? I'll do what no one else could, and one day I'll surprise the world."
Xia Lian: "The reason no one could do it is because it's impossible."
Appare: "Something impossible and something people think is impossible are different. Is it impossible for a woman to be a racer? Why? Your driving is not inferior to those guys from earlier at all. You know a lot about cars, too."
Xia Lian: "What do you know about it!"
Appare: "I'm asking because I don't know. Why do you let others decide how far you can go?"
