Thinking about Nandina at the start of the year
I love the Nandina found in New Year's decorations and floral arrangements.
The red and white berries are so cute and vivid to the eye.
(The photo is of a chozuya at a shrine visit from a few years ago.)
I also like that its name sounds like 'nan-ten' (turning away difficulty), which is associated with 'turning misfortune into good fortune.' 😆
I suddenly got curious about its flower language and looked it up,
and it turns out to be 'my love only grows,' 'witty,' 'bringing good fortune,' and 'a happy home.'
I learned that it is quite a lucky charm.
Since we have white Nandina at home and red Nandina at my parents' house, maybe I'll go get some and arrange them in a vase. 🌿
It was a New Year's Day spent thinking about Nandina.
In 2026, I want to make it a year where I take a new step forward in both my writing on note and my daily life. 😊
I look forward to your continued support this year as well. ✨
