Anticancer Drugs
Good evening😊
Today, I would like to write about my current feelings regarding anticancer drugs✌️
When I first got breast cancer, it was just surgery plus hormone therapy‼️
My doctor at the time decided that a total mastectomy and hormone therapy were the best options, so I followed that treatment plan.
The second time, it recurred in the same scar.
Then, I had surgery to gouge out the muscle in the same area, plus radiation therapy, plus anticancer drug treatment, 8 IV drips, and hormone therapy.
I did that.
Then the third time, it metastasized to my liver and reached about 8 cm.
I was told that surgery for metastatic cancer would be useless, and that the only option was endless anticancer drug treatment until I die.
For half a year, I took the molecular targeted drug Ibrance. After that, it was determined that Ibrance was no longer effective, so I took the anticancer drug TS-1 for about 5 years. Then, I decided on my own to stop TS-1, and about 2 years have passed since then‼️
People who have family members or friends with cancer often ask me about anticancer drugs❗️
Should I take anticancer drugs? Or should I stop them? they ask!
When I got cancer, it felt like the patient just accepted the treatment decided by the doctor, but I wonder if they let you choose these days?
I feel like things are gradually changing in a direction where they listen to and incorporate the patient's own opinions.
At that time, I had no idea what was going on, so I think I just did what the doctor said.
But now, I often think about what I would want to do myself‼️
8 IV anticancer drug treatments (about half a year)
About 5 years of oral anticancer drugs
I truly think about how I managed to work so hard through all of that‼️
I often see doctors say that if they got cancer, they wouldn't take anticancer drugs!
The time I started taking the anticancer drug TS-1 and the time I started thinking hard about and beginning various self-styled therapies overlap completely, so I have no idea which one was effective in helping me survive this long‼️
I feel like at first, it was probably a synergistic effect that made the cancer shrink more and more‼️
Some doctors say that while anticancer drugs do have the effect of shrinking cancer at first, it always increases again afterwards‼️
That's why I think they keep switching to different anticancer drugs when one stops working‼️
Having been on anticancer drugs for so long, I do feel various ailments in my body‼️
There are many parts of me that are clearly weaker than before I started anticancer treatment‼️
Sometimes I think I shouldn't have taken the anticancer drugs‼️
Or I sometimes think that if I had stopped on my own a little earlier, maybe the damage would have been less‼️
But I never regret the treatments I believed in and underwent until now‼️
Being alive like this now is everything, and I always think about living for the future rather than regretting the past, telling myself that I will work hard to heal the damaged parts from now on❤️
That's why when I got cancer, I didn't think, 'Why did I get cancer?' but instead immediately thought, 'How am I going to fight the cancer in my body now?'‼️
Friends sometimes tell me that I have a high ability to adapt to the environment I'm placed in‼️ lol
I feel that way myself too‼️ lol
And regarding today's theme of anticancer drugs, my opinion as someone who has experienced them is:
I think it might be okay to receive anticancer treatment to the extent that you aren't defeated by it, if it helps calm your mind‼️
But I also want you to definitely do self-styled therapies in parallel‼️
It seems that in some foreign countries, there is a way of thinking that getting cancer is a signal to 'improve your lifestyle up until now!'‼️
It is a lifestyle-related disease, after all‼️
Anticancer drug treatment‼️
I think now that the best thing is to think carefully and decide for yourself whether to do it or not‼️
Not letting your feelings be defeated by the word 'cancer'‼️
I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that this is the most important thing❤️
I want to continue to extend my life by thinking only about the future❤️
Today's self-styled therapies are:
Stretch gym
Squats
Leg lifts
Walking 7,000 steps
Harvard-style vegetable soup
Dietary therapy
Carbonated spring bath
And, I bought a cute jersey😍*\(^o^)/*❤️
Things that are fun or make me happy—I guess shopping for me?—are also important❤️
Just being alive today is a huge bonus❤️
May everyone have a peaceful day tomorrow too‼️
May good things happen to those who are working hard against cancer, various illnesses, and rehabilitation, etc.🙏
