1st Anniversary of the Fukuoka ν Gundam Statue: Plenty of Special Projects for Golden Week
Now a prominent landmark in Fukuoka that attracts many tourists from overseas, the "Life-sized ν Gundam Statue" at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport FUKUOKA is celebrating its 1st anniversary along with the "Gundam Park Fukuoka" located within the same facility. Last year, I wrote an article about this "ν Gundam Statue" feeling like "It's finally being unveiled!", and it's already been a year since then.
To mark the 1st anniversary, various special projects will be held starting this weekend, Saturday, April 22nd.
Chikappa Gundam Cinema Fes
At TOHO Cinemas LaLaport FUKUOKA, the "Chikappa Gundam Fes" will be held starting Saturday, April 22nd, screening Gundam theatrical films set in the Universal Century. "Chikappa" is a dialect word that carries the nuance of "with all one's might, very, or extremely."
The period is from April 22nd to May 7th. That's right during Golden Week. The films screened vary by day, so please check the screening schedule on the official TOHO Cinemas LaLaport FUKUOKA website for details.
Those who watch the relevant films will receive an "RX-93ff ν Gundam Clear File" as a gift, and there seem to be benefits for using your movie ticket stub at Gundam Park Fukuoka.
If there are films you haven't seen yet, this is a good opportunity to go watch them, and even if you've "seen them all!", it's also a good idea to go watch them again to refresh your memory.
New Plastic Models Also Arriving
Various campaigns will also be held at "GUNDAM SIDE-F" (LaLaport FUKUOKA 4th floor) and "THE GUNDAM BASE FUKUOKA" (inside Canal City Hakata) to coincide with this 1st anniversary, including the sale of limited-edition Gunpla.
RG 1/144 MSN-04FF Sazabi
On sale from April 22nd. The price is 8,580 yen (tax included). The Sazabi that appears in the special video for the ν Gundam statue is now available as an RG plastic model.

ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Gundam Base Limited ν Gundam [Painting Model]
A painting model of the ν Gundam (intentionally left uncolored so you can paint it freely) is now available in the ENTRY GRADE line, which is considered a Gunpla for beginners.
This also goes on sale from April 22nd and is priced at 1,100 yen (tax included).

Although these commemorate the 1st anniversary of the "Fukuoka Gundam," both seem to be available for purchase at other Gundam Base stores and online shops. They appear to be limited-edition products not available for general sale (at hobby shops or large electronics retailers), so please take this opportunity to get them.
Life-sized ν Gundam Statue New Video
Although it starts a little later on Saturday, April 29th, it seems that a new production will be added to the video display on the wall of LaLaport Fukuoka. It is said to be a retrospective of the story of Amuro and Char, narrated by Ken Narita, the voice actor for Bright Noa.
Viewing is free (since it is projected onto the wall outside). While much of it is likely existing footage, if you want to reminisce about the Universal Century heroes Amuro and Char, please visit LaLaport and take a look.
The video production takes place at night, so please check the official website for the detailed schedule.
With Golden Week starting in about two weeks, another exciting tourist spot has been added. It might be difficult to plan a trip now (due to transportation and accommodation bookings), but if you live nearby and haven't decided where to go yet, why not consider visiting Fukuoka?
Beyond the Gundam, Fukuoka is also famous for its delicious food. Please consider it as one of your options.
That is all for now.
See you next time.
