NARUTO Favorite Song Project: Unlimited Access to All Opening and Ending Sequences
"Can I really watch all the openings and endings of the NARUTO anime?"
I heard that was possible, so I looked it up and found it on YouTube right away. This isn't an illegal upload by a user, but rather from the official Studio Pierrot account.
This video allows you to watch all the opening and ending sequences used in the anime NARUTO and NARUTO Shippuden in their non-credit versions (without the production staff names), with a total runtime of over two hours (!).
Since there are no chapters, it's a bit difficult to say, "I only want to watch this specific song!", but it's quite a spectacle to see so many opening and ending sequences, and I even felt a sense of nostalgia watching the songs from the original NARUTO series before Shippuden.
(*I checked later and while there are no chapters, there was a comment in the comment section of this video that included timestamps and song titles. If you want to jump to a specific one, it seems best to use that comment.)
The part around 6:02 where "Kanashimi wo Yasashisa ni" plays is especially emotional for me. It's a song that really sticks in my memory, reminding me that NARUTO isn't just a battle series.
Now, as for why this video was uploaded in the first place, it's part of the "NARUTO 20th Anniversary Project" that has been ongoing since last year (2022), and it's related to the "NARUTO Favorite Song Submission Campaign", which is one of the projects to build excitement for the "NARUTO THE LIVE" music event being held this September.
This campaign uses Twitter and runs from July 18th to July 31st. Please check the special website for detailed submission methods and other information.
By the way, ticket sales for the aforementioned "NARUTO THE LIVE" have already started.
On the special website, you can also enjoy visuals of the NARUTO characters imagined as a band, so if you are a NARUTO fan, I highly recommend you take a look at that as well.
The video I introduced in this article will likely only be available for a limited time, but I think this kind of thing is great.
I wish other production companies and music labels would do something like this, where you can watch old anime openings and endings all in one place. If the official sources did it, it would probably eliminate illegal uploads, too.
I'd love it if, say, Sunrise would compile the Gundam opening and ending sequences...
