Yokohama Lagoon Just Before the Oeshiki Ceremony

This week was a session answering your letters. I am grateful for both the first-time listeners and the familiar ones.
Every life is special. Thank you to those undergoing treatment for panic disorder and adjustment disorder, those who shared news of their divorce, and those who sent letters from overseas.
From a poem by Sugawara no Michizane to recommendations for books and movies for the autumn reading season, I also introduced the Buddhist teaching: "Only by letting go can the boat float on the sea of the Dharma."
For this episode, I selected Celine Dion's "The Power of Love" and Monica's "Before You Walk Out of My Life."
The 'Bonze Word' (Buddhist word) was 'Anshin' (peace of mind). The Buddhist teaching says, 'If you entrust yourself, you must have peace of mind; it is not for people, let alone for the Buddha.' 'Peace of mind' is not something given to you by someone else, but something you build yourself.
This weekend is the Myoshinji Temple's Koso-e ceremony. Like the Manto-e, the main hall is lit up this week. I look forward to your visit.
