９月１８日、トランプ大統領が大統領令に署名し、極左団体のアンティファを国内テロ組織に指定しました。アメリカでは今月１０日、トランプ再選の立役者でもある、大学キャンパスで対談形式の講演などを行う若手保守系インフルエンサーのチャーリー・カーク氏が、ユタ州の大学で２２歳の男に銃撃され命を落とす事件が発生。事件現場に残された薬莢に "Hey Fascist! Catch!"と刻印されていたことから、被疑者がアンティファに影響を受け犯行に及んだとみられています。
カーク氏が殺害された後、多くの大学職員やメディア関係者が、銃撃事件に歓喜。被害者を揶揄したり、同様の事件を扇動するようなメッセージをSNSで発信、解雇される事例が相次ぎました。ペンシルバニア州でトランプ暗殺未遂事件を起こしたトーマス・マシュー・クルックス容疑者（事件当時２０歳）もカーク氏を銃撃したタイラー・ロビンソン被告（２２歳）も、学業成績優秀で家庭環境にも問題はなかったものの、共に進学した大学をすぐに中退しています。内向的な性格という共通点がある二人ですが、学生の指導にあたる職員による悪質で執拗な投稿やキャンセルカルチャーによりリベラルで固められた組織をみると、極端に偏った教育環境が、精神的に不安定な若者を暗殺事件に駆り立てるのだと思わざるをえません。
アンティファはアンチ・ファシストの略称で、ナチズムや人種差別に対抗する運動です。１９３０年代のドイツに起源があり（ワイマール共和制末期にドイツ共産党の関連団体として誕生）、ナチス党によって１９３９年に解散させられて以降は非合法の地下活動を続けました。第二次世界大戦後、反ファシスト・ナチズムへの対抗が称賛され、冷戦突入後は東西ドイツ其々において理念・思想に感化された団体が登場しました。英国などにも戦後、社会主義に傾倒した団体や専制政治に対抗する反ファシズムを掲げる集団、アナーキズムやマルクス主義を謳うグループがつくられます。各国で移民問題が顕在化すると、ネオナチのカウンターとして人種差別反対運動も活発になります。一般的にアンティファの組織に階層 / 階級はなく指導者も存在しないとされ、イデオロギーのもと自然派生する運動体といわれています。銀行口座も特定されておらず資金の流れを把握することができないとの指摘もあります。
アメリカにおけるアンティファの運動は、２０１７年８月に東部ヴァージニア州シャーロッツビルでオルト・ライト（リチャード・スペンサー氏が率いる新右翼）やKKK（白人至上主義団体）などが合流したデモと、カウンターが衝突し、死者を出した事件以降、各地で活発化されました。シャーロッツビルのオルトライトを中心としたデモ参加者が白人の若年・中年の男性で占められていたのに対し、アンティファの抗議活動の参加者は属性が幅広いことが報道写真や動画からわかります。第一次トランプ政権で、政策への抗議運動で存在感が増したアンティファは、ここ数年目立った活動はありませんでした。ところが、バイデン大統領が進めた南部国境開放で急増した不法移民が引き起こす凶悪犯罪によって、トランプの国境管理政策が評価され、昨秋の選挙で大統領の座に返り咲きました。するとトランプ政策批判とともに、また暴れ出します。
トランプは大統領復帰後、すぐに南部国境の管理を強化、不法入国者を激減させました。不法入国者の中には、個人の凶悪犯罪者の他、テロリストやフェンタニルなど違法薬物密売のカルテル、人身取引を行うギャング、武器の密輸を行う国際犯罪組織などが含まれ、地域社会の治安悪化だけでなく、国防上の危険も懸念されています。第一次トランプ政権時に国土安全保障省Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) がまとめた報告書では、アメリカ国内のAntifaとシリアのクルド人自治区のクルディスタン労働者党 (PKK) などのテロリストグループとの繋がりが指摘されています。今年４月、イギリス警察National Crime Agency (NCA) がイラクのクルド人自治区でイラク警察と共同で密航手配業の犯罪組織を摘発しました。イラクのクルド人自治区では近年、中国政府が石油利権を狙って物資を提供したり、中国語教育を行っています。独立派の武装解除は進みましたが、西側諸国は中国による工作に警戒しているようです。
トランプ大統領は国境警備強化の次に、治安が急速に悪化した民主党の牙城・不法移民聖域都市で、不法滞在者の摘発に着手しました。すると、アンティファによるICE（アメリカ合衆国移民・関税執行局）への暴力的な抗議活動が激化。運動を鎮圧するため州兵の派遣を発表しますが、当地の民主党の知事や市長までもトランプ政権を批判し、混乱が続いています。 ※ 聖域都市とは、不法移民に対する連邦政府の入国管理当局への協力を拒否する州や都市。民主党の支持率が高い地域にみられる。
アンティファの暴徒の中には、南部国境から不法入国した外国人ギャングが紛れているとの噂もあります。外国人を無制限に入国させると、取返しのつかない事態に陥ります。アメリカは先住民の虐殺や黒人奴隷の歴史で始まり、負の問題は解決したとはいえません。しかし、凶悪犯罪を繰り返す不法移民の庇護を訴えるアンティファや、国境開放政策で大量の外国人の不法入国を許し、予見できる問題を故意に発生させ、自国民を外国人による凶悪犯罪の被害者にしてきたバイデン政権の責任は重大です。
