1.5 Kilograms of Kindness
Good evening.
Today's story is about No-chan.
No-chan is a friend who travels to Korea often. I feel like she goes about once a month. Come to think of it, I feel like quite a lot of people around me travel to Korea as if it were a domestic trip. Both people from work and friends I hang out with privately. Korea is easy to visit and fun, isn't it? Come to think of it, No-chan and I have never traveled to Korea together.
Even though we hang out so much. I wonder why.
Whether it's in the neighborhood or in Korea, we have fun anywhere, so the location doesn't really matter. The things we do and the fun we have are pretty much the same wherever we go. The only things that change are the temperature, the air, and the place.
Having said that, No-chan and I have never traveled to Korea together.
Even though we hang out so much. I wonder why.
Yes, when I heard that No-chan was going to Korea the other day, I asked her if she could buy a diffuser I had been interested in.
Looking at it in writing, that's pretty cheeky of me.
It's a diffuser from a brand called HETRAS.
There were about 10 different scents, but I was interested in one called "Black Cherry." I like fruity and sweet scents.
When I asked her to buy it for me, she said yes immediately.
She's a bestie (short for BEST CHINGU FOREVER) ♡
I got a video call from No-chan while she was in Korea.
"The 500ml one is cheaper. You buy one and get two free."
"It's heavy, isn't it? Is it light... no, can I ask you to get the 500ml one?"
"It's heavy, but I'll do it!"
And so, she bought the one that was a good deal but heavy for me.
I didn't realize it at the time. If it's 500ml x 3, that's 1.5 kilograms. I was just thinking, "500ml, wow, that's big."
One day, on the day I was supposed to receive the diffuser, she messaged me saying the bag had ripped and to bring an eco-bag.
I even confirmed if a large one would be okay, and when I received it, I was shocked by the weight. I felt happy that she had carried it all the way from Korea and then to this place today, despite that weight.
Even if it's just a diffuser, it's rare for someone to go out of their way to buy something this heavy and bring it to you. It's a night where I truly realized what a lucky person I am to have a friend like that.
Thank you as always, No-chan!
