#190 "For Good Teeth" (Career Consultant Salon Editorial Department)
December!!! They really hit the nail on the head calling it 'Shiwasu' (the month when even teachers run around), because teachers are truly busy in December. There are exams, grading, and then winter break... the end is in sight!! I'll do my best!!
So, although my writing is a bit behind schedule, this time's topic is 'For Good Teeth'.
My own teeth alignment had been a long-standing concern, but I couldn't quite bring myself to commit to orthodontics. Meanwhile, I started worrying about my children's teeth and began considering treatment for them. That's when I suddenly thought, 'Why don't I try getting braces along with the kids?'
The children, of course, were resistant to the idea of wearing braces, and I was too. It costs money and time, and above all, I had this image that getting braces as an adult would be difficult. However, seeing my children working hard, I decided to summon the courage to give it a try myself.
It was a long road, but I'm glad I didn't give up on my orthodontic journey.
I was prepared for the fact that adult orthodontics would take longer than it does for children. In reality, it took nearly twice as long as it did for them. There were times when my teeth hurt from adjusting the appliances, and periods when it was difficult to eat. Honestly, I felt like giving up many times.
However, the support of my family, my dentist, and my children, who were working hard alongside me, kept me going. The dentist carefully explained that as my teeth alignment improved, cavities would decrease, it would become easier to brush my teeth, and most importantly, it would have a positive impact on my overall health, which helped me maintain my motivation.
After finishing orthodontics, I can be confident in my smile.
And finally, the day came to remove the braces! Looking at my smile in the mirror, tears welled up in my eyes. My teeth, which had been a long-standing complex of mine, had become unbelievably beautiful.
After the treatment, eating became significantly easier. The joy of being able to eat things that were previously difficult to chew was immense. And above all, being able to laugh with my mouth open was a huge change for me. I became confident in my smile, and speaking in front of others became enjoyable.
Good teeth lead to physical and mental health.
Teeth alignment and dental health have a major impact not only on appearance but also on physical and mental well-being. Through my experience, I have realized the importance of this once again. If you are worried about your teeth alignment or dental health, I highly recommend consulting a dentist.
