Counseling and Setting Destinations

I am gradually building the framework for my lessons in between my work.
Above all, I want to see a bright landscape with the people I meet here.

So, this time, I had someone who deeply loves my style and also requested a lesson take the first session, which allowed me to make fine-tuned adjustments.

Through that, I felt once again that the most important part of my lesson is the initial counseling.
To begin with, putting your own style, challenges, and goals into words is surprisingly difficult.
Therefore, I felt the need to create a format where they can speak impulsively and frankly without much struggle, rather than forcing them to organize their thoughts before speaking.

And another important thing is to set a "destination."
Even if someone says they want to improve their photography, the place they want to go is completely different for each person.

Is it a place with a beautiful ocean?
Is it untouched nature?
Do they want to encounter the aurora?

The way to get there—whether by ship or by plane—also differs from person to person.

So, first, we must explore together "where you want to head."
Then, we find an effective way to get there, practice it, and resolve any issues that arise along the way together.
I believe that is what will become the foundation of this lesson.

For example, this time, as a means to aim for "photos that touch the senses,"
we unexpectedly ended up focusing on the operation of the equipment.
It might be one of the basics, but it is a very delicate task that one faces throughout their entire life.
As a result, the person's unique flavor began to seep into their photos, to the point where it made me happy.
I was very happy that we could share that joy together.

In actual sessions, of course, I will be there to support you.
But rather than just walking beside you, we will set a "destination of your own" so that we can aim for it with all our might and reach it happily.

It was a first lesson that made me realize that this is one of my important roles as a companion.
