One piece of candy before heading home
When I get home and think, 'I'm exhausted,' I become unable to do anything.
In reality, there's a mountain of things to do: making dinner, cleaning up, and taking a bath.
My energy is almost completely drained.
But the reality of being an adult is that the wall of 'I still have to keep going' is waiting for me.
A little bit of magic in one piece
To prevent my power from turning off the moment I get home, I make it a habit to eat one piece of candy on my way back.
Sometimes it's candy, sometimes Hi-Chew, Mentos, or a small snack.
Whether I'm working or out having fun, I always carry a small pouch with snacks in it.
One when I feel tired.
One to get motivated.
One when I want to refresh.
On days when I'm especially tired, I might even eat two or three.
The thought of 'I want to eat a lot' serves as a realization that my brain might be more fatigued than I feel.
I'll try not to think too much tonight and just take it easy.
When I don't even feel like eating one, or don't really want one, it means I have some energy left.
It also serves as a barometer for my remaining energy, like 'Okay, I'll finish that chore tonight.'
Having a small habit of rest that also satisfies the heart
I have a few favorite candies, but the ones that really lift my spirits are Sakuma's Ichigo Milk.
I also love Werther's Original. Especially this one with cream inside!! I don't see it in stores very often, though.
A 'bite that lifts my spirits' satisfies not just physical fatigue, but the heart as well.
In truth, a single piece of candy won't fully restore my physical strength.
I think it's more about recharging my mental energy.
The small piece of candy hidden in my pouch brings a modest moment of rest.
Even when I don't have the luxury of a nap, it's a bit of magic that gives my heart some breathing room.
I was busy today, too.
No one praised me.
I made a mistake.
Even so, since I did my best, I think it's important to take time to reward myself by saying, 'Good job today.'
Why not create a sweet moment for yourself?
I hope you, too, will adopt a small habit of rest that satisfies your heart.
