We live in an age where anyone can
easily create text using AI like ChatGPT or Gemini.
Thinking about it that way,
the profession of a writer should become unnecessary,
and work should be decreasing, but
personally, my work is increasing.
This time,
I thought aboutthe reasons why I continue to be a writer.
I gave it some thought.

The reason I still continue is...
because I find it fun/rewarding to
listen to various things from the person I am interviewing (or consulting with),
and to draw outthe ideas and thoughts that were vaguely floating
in that person's mind.that is why.

Writing (content creation) work
at the time of receiving the requestoften has
nothing decidedregarding "what to write?"
My previous jobwas working at a fast-food restaurant, but
customer orders were clear, like
"a teriyaki burger set, with fries and a cola."
At the stage of receiving a writing request,"what they want written" is ambiguous.↓
For example,
🔴 I want to publish an email newsletter🔴 I want to restart my official LINE account that has been inactive
🔴 I want to create an internal company newsletter
🔴 When renewing the website,
I want to include a "President's Greeting",
so I would like to request an interview and drafting
It's like that.

compared to"Please give me a teriyaki burger set"have many
ambiguous
parts (parts that are not decided), andit becomes a matter of confirming what specifically is meant.
Having said that, it is rare for the client to have a concrete
plan or strategy from the beginning,
vaguely
"I am asking people who come to the storeto register for the official LINE account, butit's a waste because I haven't sent anything for half a year.(I want to send something, but I have no ideas💦)"
is the state in which
I receive consultations most of the time.

when I receive a consultation in the "not yet concrete state" like above,
🔴 Who is the reader?
🔴 What kind of results do you want to achieve
by sending out the official LINE?
🔴 What does the reader want to know?
🔴 What is a good frequency for sending?
etc.
while asking the person consulting,
the work of thinking togetheris what I like.

please have the client decide the planning and strategy"there are surprisingly many writers who say this.
"At a ramen shop with many men in their 30s,
regarding the secret to the deliciousness of the ramen,
focusing on the commitment to ingredients,
I want to send an official LINE message of about 500 characters
twice a month"
if they
decide that, I will accept it!there are writers who say things like that, so
it seems that not everyone who calls themselves a writer
likes to think about planning and strategy.
(Furthermore, there are also many writers
who are not good at meetings or
conducting interviews)

the same as my previous job
My previous job was a fast-food clerk, but
since I was in a manager position,
if anything,
● Staff training / Interviews with staff
● Training for staff
● Meetings between managers (preparation and facilitation)
etc. occupied the majority of my work.

rather than deciding alone or communicating one-way,

" dialogue with staff (discussing)"

the work itself was the same as my current writing job.
(When I talk about my career path of fast-food clerk → writing job,
people say "that's a completely different world," but
personally,
I think it's the same kind of thing because it is

Summary
The reason I continue to be a writer is something that
if there were 10 writers, there would be 10 different answers,
but
in my case,
🔴 I enjoy listening to others
🔴 It makes me happy when content that was initially vague
becomes clear as we continue talking
