note Stitch Club: April Edition

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, I found embroidery fascinating and was hooked on it for a while, but I haven't done it at all lately.

However.
I recently discovered the Stitch Club on note, led by Uwanosora-san the club president, and Sachitopeace-san the vice president, and thought it looked fun, so I joined.

I was quite worried about whether it was okay for someone like me, who has had almost no interaction with them and is a complete stranger, to just say, 'I'm joining!' But it seems the Stitch Club, which started with just the two members, is growing steadily (it's also lovely and heartwarming that there are ghost members and supporting members), and when I looked at the comment section, I saw a few people I knew, which made me feel much more confident that it might be okay to ask to join.

Now then.
Here are the specific club activities.

And the activities are,

Do your favorite stitching at home.
Present your work on note once a month.
It's okay if it's a work in progress or something from the past ^ ^

The specific activity is just to make whatever you like and post an article once a month featuring what you've made (even if it's still in progress). That's all.

Oh, the presentation period is from the 1st to the 10th.
There's less than an hour and a half left, so
first, I have to make my report!

Hmm, it's not finished yet; it's still in progress.

I found the pattern online.

I dug out my embroidery hoop while going through and decluttering the boxes I hadn't opened in the 20 years since I moved, but I couldn't find my embroidery thread. I heard that 100-yen shops carry them, so I bought some there.
It's amazing how 100-yen shops really have almost everything.
I haven't been able to find a craft store nearby lately, so this was a lifesaver.


I don't remember what kind of bird the pattern was originally, but while I was stitching it,

I thought, 'I want to make this a Daurian redstart!'

So I changed the color around the belly area. When I checked images of Daurian redstarts online, I realized there were various things different or missing, so I'd like to make some corrections and finish it by the May edition.

My younger sister has kept the embroidery I gave her as a gift a long time ago (about 30 years ago?) safe all this time.
What a great person she is. I'm so happy.

I spent way too much time on preparations this month.
Since it's not finished yet,
this isn't cross-stitch, but I'll post it anyway.
