I didn't know. You can take screenshots by tapping the back.
I always thought that taking a screenshot meant pressing the power button and the volume button at the same time.
But this is surprisingly difficult.
When I'm holding my smartphone with one hand, trying to press both buttons simultaneously often results in off-timing. The volume changes, or the screen turns off. There have been many times where I thought, 'Oh, I wanted to save that screen.'
What's more, every time I fail, I end up pressing them over and over, and before I know it, I have three of the same screenshot.
When I want to save a recipe while cooking. When I want to save a screen showing a reservation confirmation email. When I see an interesting price online.
Every time, I have to stop what I'm doing, hold the phone with both hands, get ready, and press.
I used to think, 'Why is it so much trouble just to take one screenshot?' Eventually, it became a hassle, and I often just gave up and thought, 'Oh well.'
Just tap the back twice
At that time, I happened to come across a feature called 'Back Tap' online.
It said that you can take a screenshot just by tapping the back of your iPhone twice.
I opened the settings, half-doubting, thinking, 'Does such a feature really exist?'
Open Settings app

Back Tap
Here, you choose 'Double Tap' or 'Triple Tap' and assign 'Screenshot' to it.
Double tap or triple tap
I chose double tap. I felt it was better for daily use because it only requires two taps and responds well. However, since the phone might accidentally trigger if it hits something in your bag, those who are concerned might prefer triple tap.
Once you've finished the settings, try tapping the back of your iPhone twice. If you hear the shutter sound and the screen flashes for a moment, you've succeeded.
When I tried it, I realized I could do it with one hand
When I tried it for the first time, I couldn't help but say out loud, 'Wow, it really can take it like this.'
Now, I can save things that catch my eye immediately while holding my phone with one hand. Whether I'm standing, cooking, or holding onto a strap on the train. I don't need to use both hands.
It's especially helpful in the kitchen when one hand is occupied. I can display a recipe, and even if my hands are dirty, I can save it just by lightly tapping the back. Before, I used to think, 'I'll just look it up later,' and then I'd forget, but now I can save it right away.
Just two taps on the back of your iPhone. I didn't know about it, but the iPhone has many such little shortcuts. This is a setting I especially want those who struggle with pressing buttons simultaneously to try.
Well then.
You should leave things you don't need to remember to the machine.
