Let's go happy-go-lucky with smoky whiskey
My phone chimed with a "LINE" notification.
I glanced at the notification screen and saw that my husband had sent me a link to an Amazon product page.
I was in the middle of hanging out the laundry, so I took a quick look at my smartphone before turning my eyes back to the clothes.
When I finished hanging the laundry and returned to the living room,
"Did you see it? I found something good, didn't I?"
my husband was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs with a smug look on his face.
"I haven't seen it yet."
Ignoring my husband's excitement, I gave him a bored response.
Then, I reluctantly took my smartphone out of my pocket.
Since my husband doesn't have an Amazon account, he constantly sends me product pages, and I end up clicking the buy button for him. I thought it was just another fishing-related item, so I was surprised when something unexpected appeared on the screen.
A smoking gun.
It seems to be a gadget that lets you easily make smoked food.
Just the other day, my husband and I were watching TV and learned about it. In that TV program, they were smoking whiskey.
Right after we said, "That's interesting, isn't it?", my husband found the product and was all set to buy it. Well, I was curious too, so I clicked buy right away.
And the next day, it arrived.
It came with cherry and apple wood chips.
It feels kind of stylish.
and pump the smoke in for about 30 seconds?
Hmm!
It's kind of smoky!
(Well, obviously. I just smoked it.)
At first, I tried drinking it straight, and it felt kind of mellow. Maybe it's because I smoked it with apple chips, but it also felt a little sweet, though that might just be the atmosphere. I'm not really sure.
Maybe it's because the whiskey itself already has a smoky aroma, but it feels like that's being emphasized in a nice way. This is good, really good. I feel like a grown-up.

Ah, I was already an adult enough. Hehe.
I'm turning 44 this year. I don't want to be a mature woman, I want to be a smoky woman. I'm going to be a smoky woman.
The taste is wonderful, of course, but if anything, I felt that this smoking process before drinking was very lovely. It adds entertainment to the act of drinking, and it's fun even while waiting.
And I thought that letting it sit for a little while was quite refined.
My husband is chuckling to himself, wondering what to smoke next. A weekend spent relaxing while slowly sipping some liquor is also quite nice.
