Iwaki-san Shrine Visit Diary
After the festival at the Sannai-Maruyama Site, I visited Iwaki-san Shrine at the foot of Mount Iwaki.
It felt like a place where energy from the heavens (the universe) descends onto the mountain,
and that energy of love is powerfully grounded into the earth. It was a very beautiful mountain. The shrine is located right where Mount Iwaki towers majestically before you.
It was my first time seeing the name Hakuun Dairyujin.
There is an Izumo Shrine at the entrance, and while wondering if it had connections to ancient Izumo, I prayed at the Hakuryu Shrine and other spots.
I drew some water, and since I still had time before the bus, I also visited the nearby temple of the Kokuzo Bosatsu of the Ushitora (northeast) direction, and then went to the Happy Shirasawa Onsen for a day trip. (Admission fee: 480 yen) The water was rich and felt wonderful! I truly thought that Japan's hot spring culture is the best.
I also met two cute squirrels.
Filled with the love-overflowing energy of Mount Iwaki—the warm, medicinal hot spring water, the water itself, and the medicinal plants (vegetables)—I took the bus back to Hirosaki Station. I thought to myself that this is all I really need. Nature has the power to keep our bodies healthy, and if I can exist as a part of that cycle as a part of nature, my heart feels fulfilled, though I also thought about how difficult that is to achieve in modern times, especially economically.
I also wanted to let my mother, who is currently hospitalized, drink the water from Iwaki-san Shrine.
