Poem: "Beyond Goodbye"
In the wind that occasionally crosses by
I suddenly think of you
As if carrying a scent
Reflecting things just as they were that day
The nostalgic days are here now
Words that can no longer reach are one-way
Yet in the sky I whisper to
A sea of unforgettable memories spreads out
Repeating its ebb and flow time and again
My thoughts overflow
With countless passing memories
Maintaining silence in the pristine meadow
And what I saw from there was
Looking only forward without stopping
A figure waving their hand with all their might
A promise that will never return
And a determination for the journey ahead
The crossing of a goodbye
Tells a story of beautiful loneliness
The words that could not be spoken
And the warmth I faintly felt
Were wrapped only in deep gratitude
Sara
About a year after my mother passed away
I had a dream.
The place was above the sky
When I looked a little further ahead
I saw the car my mother used to drive while she was alive
And from the driver's side window
My mother was waving at me.
I ran up to the driver's seat
And when I tried to reach out my hand
There was a complete refusal
She didn't even look my way.
At the time, I wondered why
Then the car started to drive off
Waving even more vigorously this time
As if gliding through the sky and entering the clouds
It just went away.
I woke up then, but
In the dream, I had thought it was reality
I felt that through the dream
My mother had come to properly say goodbye.
There are many words I want to convey
"Thank you," "I'm sorry"
Filled with gratitude and apologies.
Now, my mother and I are not in the same world
My mother has a place she must go to
And I still have a place assigned to me
Different paths, not the same one
I suppose this is what life and death mean
Feeling such things
The figure waving her hand so broadly
Conveyed thoughts like "I'm okay," "Take care," and "Do your best."
So now
The words I truly want to convey are
Just one word: "Goodbye"
And I wave my hand broadly to you.
