Summarizing 2025

Hello! This is Sanseru-o, who has been able to relax a bit this year-end. Everyone, there is only one day left. So, let's do the year-end tradition: a summary of the year!
First, let's look back on the year with a creative calendar.

January: Started writing a long-form light novel
February: Just kept writing
March: Just kept writing
April: Just kept writing
May: Just kept writing
June: Just kept writing
July: Just kept writing
August: Finished writing -> set it aside for a while
Published the short story I wrote at the end of last year, "Creator Elegy", on Kindle
September: Published "My Bookshelf, 6th Shelf", on Kindle
October: Started writing a short story
November: Just kept writing
December: Just kept writing -> still not finished...

So, this year's results were one long-form work and one short story (though it's not finished yet). In my New Year's resolutions, I was enthusiastic about writing a long-form light novel in the first half of the year and the 4th installment of the "Item Search Specialist Detective series in the second half, but the reality is that I only managed to write the first half. Moreover, the short story I started in the second half isn't finished yet either. I feel like my writing has slowed down. I wonder why. The only thing that comes to mind—or rather, this is definitely the fault of my "oshi-katsu" (fan activities)! You see, I decided to experience the psychology of having an "oshi" (favorite) to use as a reference for my future creative work, so I followed several VTubers this year. After putting VTubers on my daily rotation for about half a year, watching them several times a day, and actively liking and commenting, strangely enough, someone I had absolutely no interest in at first became a big part of my life before I knew it, to the point where I would feel restless if I didn't watch them. It was a strange pleasure to have the VTubers react to my likes and comments. I recently realized this was bad and cut it all off at the end of the year, but I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms where I want to watch them again, just like a drug. I'm still okay because I can objectively see that this is the psychology of having an "oshi," but I realized that if this were a normal person, it would be a quagmire. It is a fact that my writing pace dropped significantly due to this pseudo-fan activity. But well, this is also an experience. I'm sure I'll be able to apply it to my next work (hopefully).
As you can see, my fan activities were going well, but my creative activities were sluggish. Still, I managed to publish two books and increased my stock by one long-form work and two short stories (one of which will be finished soon...), so I'll call it a win. I want to increase my writing pace next year!

Also, regarding my creative work, I removed the Entanglement Mind series from Kindle exclusivity and started selling it on Rakuten Kobo and BOOK☆WALKER as well. When I make things Kindle-exclusive, they are often read through Kindle Unlimited, but lately, the Entanglement Mind series hasn't been read at all, so I decided to try moving to multiple channels. Thankfully, it's already being purchased on BOOK☆WALKER, so I'm starting to think that multiple channels might be good. I'll watch it for a little longer, and if it starts getting read outside of Kindle, I'm thinking of moving my other works as well.

As for reading, I read a ton of Kindle Indie books in the first half of the year and was able to successfully release "6th Shelf." I haven't read a single book since then, so I think I'll resume reading soon.

Now, as for my main job, I am continuing to support a project that is famous in the world. I've been taking it easy until now, but the project launched in the second half of this year and will be in full swing for next year, so I'm bracing myself for things to get busy. I wonder what will happen.
There is only one day left this year. To those who have read my books, those who have helped me with my creative work, those who have encouraged me on SNS like X, those who have helped me in other ways, and everyone in the world, thank you for the past year!
Have a happy new year!
