The Undelivered Letter

Dear Mother,
Hey, Mom...
Hey, Mom...
Letter
The reason I want to tell someone
when something happy happens
is because I was raised by someone
who would be happier for me than I am for myself.
When I felt sluggish,
I remember you used ginger and honey,
nagging me, but I remember it even if I don't want to.
Even though we are apart, I am being protected.
You always waved your hand and smiled at me,
so that I wouldn't get lost on the way home.
Even if I can't face forward anymore,
if I look back, I can always see you.
That I am truly aware
of being loved,
I will turn into a song someday.
I left town full of myself,
only to realize the truth and end up at a loss.
I even tried resenting the people who passed me by.
Even so, someday I will be able to be proud of myself,
and when that time comes,
I hope you will be proud of me too.
On the day I came home with scraped knees,
for some reason, you seemed to be in more pain than I was.
Those memories have changed shape, and even now,
even though we are apart, I am being protected.
You always waved your hand and smiled at me,
so that I wouldn't get lost on the way home.
Even if I can't face forward anymore,
if I look back, I can always see you.
That I am truly aware
of being loved,
I will turn into a song someday.
The things I really want to return to you,
I will turn into a song someday.

Hey, Mom...
If I had been raised like this song, I could have become a kinder woman (crying).
I could have been much, much kinder to you, Mom (crying).
I don't know how to love.
Even so, I will live my life loving people
with the best kindness I can muster.
I will be kind to you too, Mom, so please wait for me.
Please live a long life and wait for me.

I tried writing a "letter" in my heart to my stepmother that I still cannot send.
I tried composing it in my heart.
Please let me participate in Yuka Matsushita's project.
Is it okay to do it in this form?
Thank you in advance.
I didn't explain enough, did I? (bitter laugh)
I am writing a story about the distant past in a novel-like style.
This is how I spent my childhood.

as well (laughs).
