My 38-Year-Old Traveling Child

Sooooo cute!!!
This is Bear-chan the bear. A simple name.
Bear-chan is 38 years old.
She's what you'd call a first toy today.
Her existence is mentioned in an essay I wrote when I was in second grade.
Even after getting married and having children, Bear-chan is still with me. (Hey, don't be put off by that!)
The stuffing is packed so tightly you wouldn't think she's 38. I wonder where she was made. I've never seen such a sturdy stuffed animal.
I've given her baths, spun her around in the washing machine, and even pierced her ears to match mine during my adolescence. Yet, her eyes have never fallen out, and she's never had a single loose thread.
I couldn't sleep without Bear-chan, so I carried her everywhere I went. But since I was a pretty clumsy child, I would take her on trips and end up leaving her behind. Every time, Bear-chan would come back to me by plane or truck. (I feel bad for my parents.)
makes me feel like I'm the one being hugged.
With her round, pitch-black eyes, she has accepted everything about me. Even the dark history of my student days is something only Bear-chan knows, and she keeps it to herself.
In my end-of-life notes, I have written, "You must put Bear-chan in the coffin with me."
My husband saw that and said he wanted to keep her as a memento, but I've told him firmly not to keep her, because if he does, I might not be able to sleep and would end up coming back to get her.
Since my husband might decide to "keep her after all" on his own, I've made sure to tell my parents and siblings that putting her in the coffin is the most important task—even more important than handling my inheritance.
And the fact that only the soles of the feet are white is irresistible.
That was my #MyChildIsCuteRight 🐻♡, though I'm a bit worried that some people might be put off by it.
