Overheadfes. 2025 - Relaxed, Chill Music, Food, and Atmosphere -

October 12th.
I attended the first-ever "Overheadfes2025" held in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture.
We were only there for the 12th, as our main goal was to see "Tjiros".

Matsumoto is a place I visited on a solo trip a year ago, and it's a town I'm fond of because I love the atmosphere of the town surrounded by mountains and its cozy vibe.
It was my first time at the Yamabiko Dome venue, and the high ceilings and the warmth of the wood matched my taste perfectly; it was wonderful...

Even though it was a festival, it didn't have that atmosphere where young people are jumping around wildly; it was a place where you could easily and relaxedly enjoy music even with children, and the scent of delicious food overflowing with Matsumoto's charm drifted outside the venue.
(I ate the pasta, which changed its menu by the hour, twice—once for lunch and once in the evening. The first was an oil pasta with chicken and olives 🍗 and the second was a meat sauce with corn and tomatoes 🍅)

Besides that, there were general stores, vintage clothing shops, and craft beer food trucks, which were fun just to look at 🍺...

Also, there was a lawn area in front of the dome where children were playing and camper-style folks were spending time leisurely, and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the day in their own way as the festival progressed.

Since you can bring your own chairs and leisure sheets into the venue, we brought folding chairs too. I saw a few people lying down to listen or sitting in chairs where they could stretch their legs while looking up at the ceiling.

My boyfriend and I went for "Tjiros," but there were many other attractive artists as well. Perhaps because it was the first time and not very well-known, we were able to listen from a distance incomparable to the live shows we usually see, and I was moved by what a truly luxurious time it was.

I listened to "Kimei Reitaro's" stage while having pasta and Shinshu apple juice. It was my first time hearing him, but the song "Blues until Morning" left an impression. Also, he's great at hyping up the crowd. We did the Champs-Élysées together.
(I also thought his voice was somewhat similar to Fishmans.)

I sat quite close to the front to listen to "Yuga's" stage.
This was also my first time hearing her, and the moment she started singing the first song, "Sazanami yo," her voice was so beautiful I just melted... She had some relaxed talk with her low voice and even said, "It's okay to sleep," so I was getting quite drowsy zzz

And then, the long-awaited "Tjiros."

The vocalist in a bright green dress and high heels appeared along with the quiet-looking bass player.

The first time I saw the two of them was at the "Hashi no Shita Music Festival," but it was quite far away, so my heart was racing before they even started because I couldn't believe I could see them this close.
By the way, he is a bigger fan than I am. He is usually pretty cool, but he kept saying "this is crazy, this is crazy" because we were so close.

They did a light rehearsal before the actual performance, but for us, it felt like the show had already started from the rehearsal. At first, I thought I would sit and listen in an emotional mood, but the moment they started playing, I couldn't help but stand up.

From the very first song, there was a power and husky voice that exceeded the CD recordings. Maybe because it was a dome, the sound resonated beautifully, and I felt like the singers were probably enjoying it too.
There was a pair of big fans in front of the stage swaying freely to the melody, and watching Tjiros over their shoulders was also the best.

Every song was wonderful, but "Utsukushiki Hito" was just too cool. It's a song that came out recently, and we were both excited wondering if we would get to hear it today, so when it came on, we were like, "It's here!!!"

I was also happy to hear their covers of "Slow Ballad" and "Atarashii Machi," as I always listen to them on drives... Actually, everything was the best. Just the best.

During "Yoake no Uta," the guy next to me was tearing up, and I was moved too... (Later he asked me, "Why weren't you crying??")

I lack the ability to express this moving time in words, so I'm just typing this with pure momentum and the hope that it somehow gets across, but anyway, it was just the best time. On the drive back from Matsumoto to Nagoya, we played the songs we heard today and sang along all the way home. I want them to become famous, but I also thought they are the kind of artists I want to keep this style forever.

Lastly.

Overheadfes.
I have feelings of gratitude for them holding it, and a feeling of "please definitely hold it again next year!" I'm looking forward to next year. Love Matsumoto!! 🍎
