Foreword

I love antique markets.
They look like junk, but they are things that hold someone's time.
Today, I encountered a slightly suspicious prompt called "Transformation Porcelain."
This is a little story that came to mind while walking through an antique market under a blue sky.

Found at the Antique Market

I love browsing antique markets.
Today, I took several trains to come all the way to an open-air antique market.

My goal is always the same.
To buy antiques.
I walk around to see if there is anything eye-catching among the many antiques.

Antique markets are mysterious places.
Even the people selling things have somewhat suspicious looks on their faces.

"This is a rare item that doesn't come in often. Take a look."

When I was called out to and turned around, there was some strange porcelain lined up there.

"What are you looking for?
You like antiques, right?
You'll surely like this transformation porcelain.
I'll give it to you for half price today, just for you.
It's a great buy."

Before I knew it, I had bought the transformation porcelain for 100,000 yen.

I returned home and unwrapped the sturdy packaging.
Inside was an item that I couldn't believe was worth 100,000 yen.

"Why did I buy something like this...
I won't be able to afford food this month..."

Just as I muttered that.

"You made a good purchase, my friend.
I won't let you regret it.
Your life is going to be rainbow-colored from here on out."

Wait, isn't it supposed to be rose-colored...

Afterword

Is "Transformation Porcelain" a story about things changing,
or a story about a person's life changing?

I intentionally didn't write the answer.
A rainbow is not just one color.
Beautiful colors, muddy colors—all of them together make a rainbow.

Thinking of such things,
this story ends in a corner of the antique market.
