The Samurai, the Sea, and the Sunset
Entry for the Rainbow Creative Club
Preface
This is a work inspired by an illustration.
Samurai, the sea, and the sunset—I have dared to depict these powerful motifs from a quiet perspective.
Through the character of Ryoma, I have layered the vastness of dreams and nature.
I have layered the vastness of dreams and nature through the character of Ryoma.
Main Text: The Samurai, the Sea, and the Sunset
Ryoma crosses over to the other side of the sea.
The dream he once shared with his companions long ago, he now pursues alone.
The sea is calm, as if silent, as if taking a moment to rest.
The sky, dyed in the colors of the sunset, wraps Ryoma's dream in burning hues.
Ryoma continues to cross toward the sea he has yet to see.
Because the sunset holds onto the sun that will not set.
Afterword
The sea always challenges people, and the sunset always sees them off.
What overlaps with the back of the samurai, Ryoma, may very well be our own "dreams yet to be seen."
It is a short piece, but I hope you can feel the lingering resonance of the sunset and the sea.
I wrote this for the Rainbow Creative Club's illustration.
Niji-Clip, thank you for your consideration.
