Dragon After the Rain
Foreword
One day, after the rain had stopped.
I encountered a large silver dragon.
I had always thought that dragons flew through the sky, breathed fire, and used magic, but this dragon was a little different.
Main Text

The large silver dragon spoke to me.
"I haven't been able to trim my nails lately. Could you help me?"
"What are you talking about? Can't you just use magic or something to cut them?"
"If I used magic for something as trivial as nail clipping, my master would be furious."
"Wait, you have a master?"
"Ah, well, they passed away 1,000 years ago."
"Seriously? Have you really been alive for 1,000 years?"
"That's right. Come on, help me with my nails. I'm begging you."
"Alright. So, where is the nail clipper..."
I was surprised when I saw the nail clipper the dragon held out.
Wow, that's huge.
Click, click.
I am trimming the dragon's claws with giant nail clippers.
They cut really well.
If nail clippers don't cut well, the shape of the nails will turn out bad.
The dragon answered with a strangely serious face.
After trimming the claws for a while, I asked about something I had been curious about.
Hey, do you know about the swing in the moonlight?
I do.
I'd love to try riding it.
That thing is fickle, so even I don't know when it will appear.
I see.

I asked further.
Can you also tell me the location of the seven-colored door?

The dragon looked exasperated.
You are quite greedy, aren't you?
Is that so? People tell me I'm thick-skinned.
You idiot.
I continued, refusing to be outdone.
"Hey, do me a favor as a thank you for clipping your nails."
Then the dragon said with a straight face,
"If I do you a favor, my scales will come off."
"Are you an idiot?"
A rainbow hung in the sky after the rain.
"Hey, since the rain has stopped, won't you take me home?"
"Honestly, just because I asked you to clip my nails, I've ended up with extra work."
"Don't say that. I'll clip them for you again."
The dragon thought for a moment before speaking.
"I see. The next time they grow out will be in 100 years."
"Don't be ridiculous."
Afterword
I couldn't ride the moonlit swing, and I still don't know where the seven-colored door is.
Even so, helping to clip the silver dragon's nails became an unforgettable memory.
If we can meet again in 100 years, maybe next time it won't be for nail clipping, but they might even let me ride the moonlit swing.
Though, by that time, I might be the one who needs my nails clipped.
The End.
