Instagrammable
A submission for the weekly short-short note project
Instagrammable
Mikan, who was visiting for sightseeing, was planning to take a picture of Mount Fuji and head home.
Her goal was Mount Fuji in the next seat, aiming for an Instagrammable shot.
If she was too close, she couldn't fit the whole thing in. She considered a composite, but she wanted to take a picture of the real Mount Fuji if possible.
After looking at various photos of Mount Fuji taken by others, she decided to go to Lake Kawaguchi.
She boarded a sightseeing boat and repeatedly simulated how to take a double photo of the inverted Fuji and the real Mount Fuji. Using a selfie stick, she pressed the shutter at the perfect moment. Yes, she thought, success.
She took several photos in a row, and when she checked them, there was yakisoba sauce from her lunch on Mikan's face... Mikan had no time or money left. She had managed to take an Instagrammable photo, but her face... Ah, she would just edit it. Editing should be fine, unlike a composite. Mikan was very satisfied after posting it on Instagram.
A week later, a friend told Mikan, "Your Instagram is going crazy," and when she opened Instagram, the post was still there with the sauce on her face that she thought she had deleted. Even though she was sure she had edited it...
She had gone viral as a tourist who enjoyed Mount Fuji in the next seat and some yakisoba.
I didn't need to be Instagrammable in this way... (483 characters)
