The Day I Believed in Repeating Numbers and Kicked Everything Away
Yesterday was January 11th.
A day of repeating numbers.
The moment I looked at the calendar,
I thought,
'Oh, this is a sign.'
The basis?
None.
But,
you can usually trust repeating numbers.
Sometimes you do,
sometimes you don't,
and so it goes.
The park by the office.
The fallen leaves,
the same amount as always.
But, they look different.
Today, I felt,
it was a guaranteed sign to kick them all away.
Before looking for a reason,
my foot moves.
Before checking,
I kick.
Kick.
Kick.
Kick them all away.
Not one by one.
I take them all at once.
The future,
evaluations,
and my recent self.
If they are still there on a day of repeating numbers,
then they are meant to be kicked away.
A pigeon flies.
I think,
'The scene has started.'
A crow caws.
I think,
'It's going to continue.'
It's completely in my head.
But,
that's fine for today.
Kicking,
changing direction,
stepping too hard,
and so it goes.
I'm out of breath.
But I don't stop.
Repeating numbers,
I feel like I shouldn't stop halfway through.
I don't even have time to smoke my iQOS.
I felt that if I smoked,
the scene would end.
Eventually,
the fallen leaves are all scattered.
They fly up,
and I lose track of where they went.
Only then,
do I think,
'Oh, it's over.'
What started,
I don't know.
But,
something has ended.
January 11th.
A day of repeating numbers.
Believing it was a guaranteed sign to kick them away,
I kicked with all my might.
Perhaps,
with delusions like this,
I will live through this year too.
So,
for now, there are no problems.
