Thank you card from Singapore🇸🇬 - Postcrossing Extra Edition -

I'm back with more Postcrossing content, I just can't help myself.

The person I sent a postcard to in Singapore🇸🇬 back in May was very happy with it. Since they mentioned in their profile that they like Moomin, I used commemorative Moomin stamps, which they seemed to be incredibly pleased about. They asked to send me a thank you postcard, so I gave them my address.

I thought, 'Will it really arrive? It'll be lucky if it does,'

and had completely forgotten about it when it actually arrived!

It really feels like 'The Singapore'🇸🇬, doesn't it?😊

The stamps are also very beautiful.

When I sent her the postcard, I actually wrote that Singapore was the first overseas trip I took with my own money about 30 years ago...

And in her postcard, she wrote about how much Singapore has changed in these 30 years, which left me feeling quite nostalgic for a while☺️

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel, which is also on the postcard, of course didn't exist 30 years ago. I didn't have the money to stay at the iconic Raffles Hotel, but I was determined to go there for tea, so I headed over, only to find...

it was closed for renovations😭

I had just finished reading Ryu Murakami's 'Raffles Hotel,' so I felt like I couldn't talk about Singapore without having visited it, and I was very shocked.

Well, looking back now, it's just a nostalgic memory from a time before the internet.

Being surprised that the Singapore Sling cocktail was more bitter than I expected.

Eating rabbit meat for the first time in my life.

Being disappointed that the Hindu temple was smaller than I had imagined.

It's funny how you can remember things about your travels even from a long time ago.

I have no plans to go, but if I did, I'm sure my perspective would be different. Back then, I had absolutely no interest in Chinese culture, and now, conversely, I have no interest in cosmetics or brand-name goods at all. 😏

I've gotten older, but I think I could enjoy myself more wherever I go now. I'm glad I can feel that way. It's inevitable that my eyesight and physical stamina have declined, but I don't find myself wishing I were younger... probably. 😅

I hope things settle down soon so I can travel to many different places.
