It has been 2 years since I became obsessed with cameras
In April 2024, I bought a Canon EOS R8 and made my full-frame debut. Now that exactly two years have passed since then, what do I have in my hands...?
I have been using cameras for over 10 years, but it is only in the last two years that I have been using them seriously, or rather, touching them almost every day. Counting from the EOS R8 that I introduced because I thought, 'I'd like to try using a full-frame camera soon,' I have bought a total of 11 cameras in these two years. (I'm stunned...)

...I don't even understand it myself anymore. It's terrifying when I think about the amount of money I've spent. And it's also quite unsettling that I still have 4 of them (in bold) in my possession. Since I keep switching mounts, I have naturally been buying and selling not just cameras but also many lenses. What on earth am I doing?
At this point, I'm starting to think I'm just a middle-aged guy who wants to buy cameras. No, that's probably exactly what I am.
However, having handled this many cameras, I have developed an indescribable attachment to the ones that allowed me to take photos that made me think, 'Oh, that's nice.'
The cameras that remain with me now are the Nikon Z5, the FUJIFILM X-M5, and the X-E4. (I would also like to welcome the X-T5 I used before back into my hands if the opportunity arises.)
All of them are cameras that produce images with character rather than razor-sharp detail. I feel that these three are the ones that give me the photos I like right off the bat.
Should I say that I have finally found my place? It might have been an expensive lesson, but I have no regrets.
I continue to use the GRⅢx with settings close to film, and it seems I like cameras and lenses that produce images with a film-camera-like atmosphere. I took quite a long detour to get here.
I would like to settle down in this place I have finally reached, but the scary thing about this hobby is that things don't always go that smoothly. I don't know what will happen, so I won't make any unnecessary declarations. Haha
But one thing I can say is that I want to keep taking photos every day from here on out. After all, cameras and lenses are meant to be used.
