Stopping is the shortest path to achieving your goals.

Hello, this is Saki.

Today, I'd like to talk about how
"taking a proper rest to recharge is essential for not losing sight of your purpose."

Now that the rainy season has arrived, are you feeling a bit heavy?
Even though I know intellectually that this is a blessing for nature,
I can't help but feel so sluggish...

Last week, perhaps because my period was also heavy,
I had absolutely no motivation, both mentally and physically, and I lived
thinking only about the bare minimum of feeding my children.

I usually feel like I can refresh my mood,
but the level of depression I felt this time was the worst I've ever experienced.
(Maybe I've just forgotten how bad it was before.)

I didn't feel like going out to refresh myself,
or reading a book to take my mind off things;
I felt reluctant to do absolutely everything.

In the end, I was able to return to my usual self by the beginning of the week,
and I've been able to be active since the morning.

What was I doing when I was feeling so down?
I'd like to share that with you.

It is
to try and imagine "what I want to be doing when I'm back to normal."

At that time, I couldn't move from the sofa as if it wasn't my own body,
but my mind was constantly active. However, most of it
was just negative thoughts.

But, instead of thinking about my current painful situation and
"Oh, why is it so painful..."
and just making myself suffer even more,

I try to imagine, to the extent I can,
what kind of person I want to be when I recover?
How do I want to be spending my time?

When I'm thinking about things like that, I somehow
start to feel happy.

Things like, "When I feel better, I want to go there,"
or "I want to eat that again."
My daydreams just won't stop.

And then,
when I recover, it becomes easier to be active
naturally. Because I've been imagining it,
my body finds it easier to move.

Before, even when I wasn't feeling well,
I would panic, thinking, "I have to keep moving somehow."
But trying to force myself to move just makes
things even more painful.

At times like that, it's better to stop and rest for a while.

And then,
while imagining myself when I'm feeling better,
try to remember what I really want to do
and the future I want to aim for.

This is also an important process for achieving goals,
which is clearing your mind.

When people talk about achieving goals, it's often thought
that it's important to always keep running toward a big goal.

But in reality, rather than continuing to run
while completely exhausted, stopping for a moment to
realign yourself is also an important action.

Feeling down and thinking, "Ah, it's painful because I can't move as I'd like..."
is an emotional part of life that is unavoidable, but

stopping is by no means a bad thing,
and in fact, making that pause meaningful
becomes an important time to reaffirm
your own purposes and goals.

Your body isn't moving, but your mind has started to move.
This means you are properly moving forward.
You are managing to move yourself forward, even if just by a millimeter.

So, instead of just being pessimistic,
choose carefully what you think about.

Rest without rushing. Regroup, and start running again.

Stopping is the shortcut to achieving your goals.
No matter the situation, keep imagining
what you want to become in your mind at all times.

Ahead

P.S.

I share tips on how to keep your mind organized
in my e-book.
