Created by someone who found studying the Five Organs painful! The ingenuity behind my 'Fun Yakuzen Course'

Good morning.
I am Saki, a Yakuzen instructor who works as a company employee
while raising a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old♪

“What do you think about studying things you aren't interested in?”

I would like to talk about that theme today.

I will talk about how I overcame the painful study of the “Five Organs”
while I was learning Yakuzen^^

Why studying things you aren't interested in is painful

I am the type of person who originally cannot take any interest
in fields that have nothing to do with me...
When I first started learning Yakuzen,
the study of the “Five Organs” was what I felt was painful.

For example,
“The Liver circulates Qi,”
“The Spleen transforms and transports,” “The Lung disseminates and descends,” and so on...

Even hearing those words didn't click for me at the time.
I ended up feeling, “So, how does that relate to my life?”

My experience of being bad at studying the Five Organs

Knowing the functions of the Five Organs is very important for learning Yakuzen!
But until it connects to your own body, it's just rote memorization.

Since I started by studying for Yakuzen qualifications,
I was desperate to “memorize the knowledge,” and honestly, it was a bit painful.

But as I continued to learn Yakuzen,
I realized that “when you link it to actual changes in the seasons and your physical condition,
the knowledge of the Five Organs naturally enters your head.”

There is no “Five Organs” section in my classroom's Yakuzen course

Based on that experience, I created a course called
“Practical Support Course for a Yakuzen Life from Zero Knowledge”
which remains the main course of my classroom today♪

It is a course for beginners aimed at enabling even those new to Yakuzen
to practice it at home, but
actually, this coursedoes not have a Five Organs sectionat all.

The reason I “dared to exclude” the Five Organs

The reason is simple,
because if you learn the “Five Organs” right away, it inevitably ends up feeling “like studying.”

You won't keep it up if you aren't interested,
and it becomes painful when you think “I have to memorize this...”

But, for example, when autumn comes, it's the “season when the Lungs are easily weakened.”
So what happens when the Lungs are weakened? What kind of functions do they have? Or,
when winter comes, it's the “season to regulate the Kidneys.” What functions do the Kidneys have?
What happens when they are weakened? If you think about it that way,

doesn't it feel much more relatable all of a sudden??^^

I think it's much easier to learn naturally through the flow of the seasons and have it really stick.

A system for learning naturally from seasonal Yakuzen

In this course, we set a theme for each season.
For example, in the upcoming 'winter,' we focus on caring for the kidneys.

'What does the kidney actually do?'
'How does it weaken in the cold?'
'What kind of ingredients should I choose?'

When you start from that kind of 'experience,'
you begin to understand, 'Oh, that's why the five organs are so important.'

So, instead of trying to memorize the functions of all the organs one by one right away,
I personally highly recommend the approach of learning about an organ when its season arrives,
or learning about a specific organ when you feel like you're having trouble with it.

Learning what you're interested in gives you strength!

I always thought 'studying equals pain.'
But now, I am convinced that 'if you learn from what you're interested in, you can keep it up and have fun.' ♪

For example, my own period finally returned recently,
and that sparked a sudden interest in 'periods and Yakuzen.'

Once you have an interest, you naturally want to look things up,
and reading books becomes fun too.

Studying is actually a 'series of fun discoveries'!!

With that kind of mindset, once you've acquired the basic knowledge of Yakuzen,
you can understand books you buy, and it's really fun to
deepen your knowledge in areas you're curious about on your own ♪

Summary: Let's start learning from the gateway of interest ♪

Studying things you aren't interested in is painful.
But once you find an entry point that sparks your interest,
learning becomes much more fun!

Yakuzen is the same ♪
Let's start by learning from seasonal ingredients and your own physical condition.

Thank you for reading until the end today.
I hope this provided some hints for learning Yakuzen in a 'fun' and 'personal' way ^^
