The Cruel Entertainment Industry Where Mei Nagano Hits and Masaki Suda Flops
I really hate Masaki Suda.
The short video where someone said that reached 4.3 million views.
It's easy to see why influencers in this world take contrarian stances. This is how things that go viral on the internet become skewed.
I watched the Masaki Suda-starring film 'Sunset Sunrise' on Netflix.

As I mentioned in that short video earlier, Masaki Suda really is talented.
I wondered how such a wonderful film could exist, so I looked up the release date and it was actually January 2025.
Without waiting even half a year, it has been streaming on Netflix since May 17th.
There was information that the box office revenue as of February was 250 million, so assuming it was in theaters until around March, the final total would be 300 million, or 500 million at best.
The Mei Nagano-starring film 'Kaku Kaku Shikajika' surpassed 500 million in its second week of release.
Despite the negative campaigns from X users claiming it was 'empty,' 'nobody went to see it,' and 'Mei Nagano is finished,' it is on a trajectory that makes 1 billion almost certain.
Frankly speaking, I think it's the effect of Mei Nagano's affair.
If you thought, 'Wouldn't Mei Nagano's affair usually have a negative impact and cause it to flop?'
then you have an X brain.
Or rather, a 2channel brain.
Or a 5channel brain. It doesn't matter which.
Most people don't really care about Mei Nagano's affair.
They might treat it as gossip, like housewives chatting over a fence: 'Oh, she had an affair? She looks so cute, I didn't expect that. I'd love to have an affair with Mei-chan too, heh heh. Oh, she's being dropped from commercials? That's tough.' But they don't have the kind of extreme ideology that would make them barricade themselves in the Asama Sanso to force her to quit show business.
In the midst of that, they learn of the film's existence.
'Oh, is this the one? The one they said might not be released?'
It is presumed that a significant number of customers thought, 'It looks kind of interesting, maybe I'll watch it.'
Of course, this is assuming the quality of the film was good to begin with.
Even I, who have my smartphone set up to block news feeds, knew about 'Such and Such,' while I didn't know about 'Sunset Sunrise' until last week.
In other words, the difference between 'Sunset Sunrise' and 'Such and Such' was simply whether or not people knew about them.
One could also say it comes down to whether or not the lead actor had an affair.
If Masaki Suda's affair had been exposed before the release, it would have caused a stir similar to 'Will the release be canceled?', and everyone would have known this movie existed.
If you just make something good, everyone will definitely watch it.
That is nothing but a fantasy.
Mei Nagano's unexpected contrarian move served as a powerful promotion.
The main point of this article is that although its awareness was lacking, 'Sunset Sunrise' is a very good movie and I recommend it.
