[Nagoya] Jingu-mae Branch Exclusive! The ultimate luxury at "Okute Yamamotoya": Pork Belly and Egg Miso Nikomi Udon

Miso Nikomi Udon is a soul food you absolutely cannot miss when visiting Nagoya.
This time, I visited the Jingu-mae branch of "Okute Yamamotoya," a famous restaurant with a history dating back to 1925. My goal was to try a special limited-edition menu item available only at this location.
1. The overwhelming sense of presence as it bubbles right before your eyes!
The clay pot brought to the table was bubbling with miso soup, even with the lid on, and a wonderful aroma spread through the air.

I couldn't help but capture this perfect moment before opening the lid on video. Seeing it bubble and hearing the sound along with the heat stimulates the appetite to the extreme.

2. The impact of the Jingu-mae branch exclusive "Pork Belly and Egg Miso Nikomi"

When I lifted the lid, the stars of the dish were lined up beautifully, soaked in Yamamotoya's traditional, rich Hatcho miso soup.

Melting Pork Belly: The large pork belly is the biggest attraction of this menu. The richness of the miso has soaked in thoroughly, and it is so tender it practically melts in your mouth.
Exquisite harmony with the egg: Breaking the raw egg, which cooks perfectly in the heat of the soup, and coating the signature firm, extra-thick Yamamotoya noodles with it creates a wave of mild, rich umami.
Crunchy green onions: The green onions added as an accent also pair perfectly with the strong miso.

3. A broth where tradition lives on, delicious down to the very last drop

The traditional broth, said to be carefully prepared every morning, has a powerful punch of bonito dashi that provides a depth that can stand up to the rich miso.
I couldn't stop the loop of slurping the piping hot noodles and drinking the soup infused with umami; before I knew it, the clay pot was empty.
It was a supreme Miso Nikomi Udon lunch that perfectly colored my Nagoya trip, allowing me to fully enjoy luxurious ingredients unique to this limited menu.
