Even here, it's cute.
Recently, I found one more thing
that I love about my daughter.
It's not her eyes,
or her smile.
It's the tiny beads of sweat
that gather under her nose.

1. A newly discovered thing I love
My daughter is playing with all her heart.
Running,
laughing,
and running again.
Before I knew it,
tiny beads of sweat had gathered under her nose.
That sight,
is indescribably cute.
2. Children give their all, even in their sweat
When eating ice cream.
When drawing pictures.
When building with blocks.
Children are,
always giving it their all.
That's why,
they don't worry about sweat.
Forgetting even to wipe it away,
they head toward the next 'fun' thing.
That vulnerability,
is unbearably precious.
3. Things we forgot as adults
When we become adults,
we start to worry a little,
about sweating under our noses.
'How embarrassing.'
We even think things like that.
But,
for children,
I don't have that feeling.
Because being absorbed in something,
is much more important.
4. The scenery my child taught me
If it were before my daughter was born,
I surely wouldn't have noticed.
That sweat gathering under the nose,
was just sweat.
But now it's different.
"You played with all your might again today, didn't you?"
That's what I can think.
When spending time with a child,
even though the scenery doesn't change,
what I see starts to change.
I start to stop and look at things,
that I would have overlooked in the past.
My daughter, again today,
while gathering a little sweat under her nose,
was playing with all her heart.
Surely,
What I like is,
not the sweat.
I think it's the girl who is enjoying the moment
enough to work up that sweat.
