Around-60 guys spending well-being time in a group LINE!! But nobody knows what that word means (lol)
Difference from "Happiness"
Happiness:
Often refers to temporary or emotional joy or happiness, such as "winning the lottery" or "eating something delicious."
Well-being:
A more sustainable and multifaceted state. It refers to a continuing "good state" that includes life satisfaction, a sense of purpose, and healthy human relationships.
Let me tell you about a
well-being time I had on January 7th of this year!!
I'm an around-60 guy for whom the stylish term "well-being" doesn't suit at all (lol)
At the end of the year before last, two friends from my time in Kansai (buddies I was always with and goofed around with when I was about 20) came to see me in Hakata...
After spending a fun time at an izakaya reminiscing about the old days, we created a group LINE for the three of us and started messaging each other.
It's not a group LINE where we message each other all that often, but we use it in a
laid-back way
to chat when there's a big event, like
I went to a Southern All Stars concert!!
Hooray for the Hanshin Tigers winning the championship~🙌
Then, this year, on the night of January 7th, my LINE notification sound went off, and when I opened it, it was from an unfamiliar group LINE.
"Hmm, what's this?"
"It's suspicious. Is it some kind of solicitation, sales, or a scam?"
When I opened it, I saw that XX, one of the guys from our usual around-60 guy group LINE, had created a new group LINE and invited me to it.
Then, without a pause, two photos of an unknown middle-aged man appeared.
When I looked closely, thinking, "Hmm, who is this?"...
It said, "It's [Name]. Long time no see!! I'm still alive."
And,
"It's [Name]. Long time no see, how are you?" appeared on the screen...
"Whoa!! It's [Name]!!"
"Oh, could this actually be [Name]!?"
I was super surprised (lol).
Apart from the two mentioned above, there were two other friends I hung out with a lot when I was around 20, and with me, we were a core group of about five, and even though the members changed occasionally...
Group dates, picking up girls, all-night mahjong, card gambling (oh, that would get us arrested! I mean card games), discos, izakayas, Yoshinoya, family restaurants, trips, beach outings, visiting shrines for the New Year, watching the first sunrise of the year, and so on...
We were friends who spent all kinds of fun times together that could be called our youth.
So nostalgic!!
So much fun!!
We spent endless time in that group LINE chat,
instantly returning to those days.
What was it like back then?
What was the name of that cute girl from that group date?
I was so embarrassed when you guys followed me on my first date with my girlfriend,
or the story about how you guys ambushed me at my part-time job saying, 'We're coming over to hang out now!'
memories of the summer beach trip we all went on,
all sorts of episodes like that,
going back and forth about this and that (lol).
We had an incredibly well-being time.

The group LINE has a name he gave it, but I call it the [Well-being LINE] on my own. (lol).
Of course, not a single one of these five middle-aged guys, all around sixty, bald, and pot-bellied (I haven't met them so I don't know, but I can imagine it😁)...
None of them know the meaning of the word [well-being] either~ (lol).
