Life with a new family member has begun | I will be watching over our days ahead

This is sudden, but we have a new cat!

Actually, she had been wandering around our house since around May of this year, and after various circumstances, we decided to take her in.

She is a black female cat, and I would guess she is about 1 to 2 years old. She still has a bit of a kitten-like quality to her, and she is just so cute.

We took her to the vet, and all the necessary checkups and treatments are complete.

We tried looking for a foster home for her, but we just couldn't find the right match...

The reason I decided to bring her home

Since we already have cats, I worried quite a bit about whether or not to actually take her in.

Even so, I felt that 'with three cats, I should be able to handle whatever happens,' and I ultimately decided to welcome her as part of the family.

Our existing cats are both males, so I am actually a little happy to have our first girl.

However, one of our existing cats is also black, so I am already a little worried that I might not be able to tell them apart once she grows up... haha.

Building a relationship with the existing cats is still a work in progress

We are currently in the adjustment period.

We are gradually increasing the time she spends with the other cats, but it seems it will still take some time for the existing cats to accept her. The new cat is quite confident and has a lot of nerve. Haha.

Fortunately, we live in a detached house, so I like to think that each of them is able to secure their own space.

Of course, I would be happy if they got along, but for now, I feel like it would be enough if they just didn't fight.

Come to think of it, I've surprisingly forgotten how we helped them adjust when we brought in our second cat...

I'm asking Chappy for advice while trying to remember, 'How did we do it again?' Haha.

Hoping she feels glad she came to our home

We are still in the observation period, but I hope we can slowly become a family from here on out.

And if she can feel that this is a home where she can be at ease, that would make me the happiest.
