I want to share about rescue dogs through 'Close to you'♪

Hello everyone.
I am Saeri, a jazz singer who sings about life.

Sora is a rescue dog who joined our family in 2021.
He was abandoned and rescued when he was just two months old.
If he hadn't been rescued, he would have either starved to death or been put down at the animal shelter.

Thanks to a rescue organization called 'Chibawan' that pulled him from the shelter and found him a new family, his life was saved.

Then, after being taken in by his first family and being rescued again... he was saved once more, and we met him as his second family.

Yesterday, while we were out for a walk, a little boy from a nursery school we passed said to me,

"Hey, is this dog an angel?"

I answered, almost on the verge of tears,

"Maybe he is. I think he probably is."

To us, Sora, a former rescue dog, is an angel.

Meeting him was triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
My music work decreased, and I was staying home, making music and practicing, living days without meeting anyone.

I couldn't find the words to talk to my husband when he came home at night... I felt like I was forgetting how to speak and even losing my emotions, so when I thought about someone who could be by my side... I remembered that a friend had adopted a rescue dog, and I searched online.

And so, after a meeting, we welcomed him into our family.

Of course, we didn't hit it off right from the start.
Just like with people, we got closer little by little.
A family is something you build... especially with an animal that doesn't speak your language. But that's exactly why he is so pure, and I faced him with a clean slate as well.

He is now an irreplaceable family member.

The more I learned about rescue dogs, the more I realized how difficult the current situation is.
