[Mountain Climbing Record] Mt. Horai (March 22, Reiwa 8 (Sun))

I am Sadao Tsuruki, a Labor and Social Security Attorney and Administrative Scrivener living in Hokkaido, and a supporter of Consadole.

I work as a Certified Social Insurance Labor and Social Security Attorney and Administrative Scrivener at the Tsuruki Labor and Social Security Attorney and Administrative Scrivener Office in Otaru, Hokkaido.

One of my hobbies is mountain climbing.

Mt. Horai (elevation 980m)

On the last day of the three-day weekend in March, I went to Mt. Horai, which is next to Nakayama Pass.

Mt. Horai is one of the 50 peaks of Sapporo, a mountain with an elevation of 980 meters that you enter from the side of the roadside station at Nakayama Pass.

There was a solid snowshoe trail, and since I walked along it, it was very easy to walk.

The weather was clear with a few clouds, but it was very nice. The temperature was high, and although it was a bit chilly due to a slight breeze, the conditions were almost perfect.

On this day, my second daughter unusually said she wanted to go, so the three of us climbed it.

Since we started from the pass, there was almost no elevation gain, and a gentle walk continued for a long time.

I could hear the engine sounds of snowmobiles in the distance quite clearly, and they crossed our path and headed further into the back.

I couldn't hear any wild bird calls at all; perhaps it is because the elevation is close to 1000 meters. Since we started climbing from the pass, it might be because the elevation is high.

We took a slow snowshoe walk, and finally gained a little elevation to reach the summit. I took the usual commemorative photo of Dole-kun at the summit sign.

After that, the three of us made coffee and took a coffee break. While looking at the beautiful mountains around us, we ate delicious coffee and cookies and took a short break. We spent a blissful time.

I finished packing up and started the descent. I brought a small sled, but because the snow was wet and the slope was gentle, it wouldn't slide at all.

Under a wide blue sky, I walked slowly and descended safely. After the descent, I stopped at the Nakayama Pass roadside station, ate their famous fried potatoes, and went home with a full stomach.
